So imagine you've got a 3 week hiatus planned to the 'dam for this summer, and you've basically been counting down the hours in your head since you last left town. You've got a sweet ass smoker friendly canal loft reserved and enough cash saved up to whore through any and all strains, junk food, and events you could dream up. You plan on flying your wife in mid-way through and you've got plans to plant the seed of life on vacation in your most favorite city.
And then...snap! That's the sound I heard from my right achilles tendon as I stepped back from a free throw with less than a minute to go in my last b-ball game. Just got cut on today, and it's gonna be 2 or 3 months until I can walk on my own again. Thought about hobbling and crutching around town, but it would be too bittersweet.
Now looking at an extended stay for November, with a short 3 or 4 day trip basically as soon as I can walk again, maybe August. Good thing I stumbled upon a lot of widow to get me by.
Anyone else ever had their 'dam world rocked in similar fashion?

Very sorry to hear that man, sometimes things happen for a reason so who knows the time may pass and it might work out for the better. Thats the outlook I try and keep on situations like these and one way or another you know you will be going to Amsterdam.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
I have removed you from the June and July Whos In Town pages.
When you have dates for your next trip, get them to me.

Sorry to hear about that, man...
Had my introduction to Kidney Stones 101 about two weeks prior to an Oct 2009 visit to AMS and had to decide whether to stay home or go. Chose to go and dealt with the worst trans-atlantic crossing EVER. Random, recurring bouts of kidney pain would leave me face down on the bed. At least I was mobile and didn't have an overall horrible trip. Ended up passing a 7mm stone the day after my return home.
But that wasn't much compared to an Achilles injury. Hope your return to the Dam is a speedy one.

Ironically, the only weed i found that helped this, ...and for anyone that might be in need of pain relief, or Know someone that would benefit, was "TRAINWRECK"!!!
Event that will rock my "Dam" world? That's about to happen at 3pm my time, when i'm sure i'm going to be constructively 'sacked' due to the above disc problem.
It's a bummer for whichever reason, but "nippers" you have my deepest sympathy as i've worked with a few people who suffered this agonising problem which they said you wouldn't wish on anyone.....well lets just see what happens at 3.05pm....
Re: A Kick to the Junk for the ages
Thanks for the well wishes, and Nippers/Artymac very sorry to hear about what you went through. Rasa, you couldn't be more right. I'll likely be making by first cup appearance this fall.
