Trad's April Visit

Post by Trad »

First off, sorry for going missing for so long… .to many things to tend to after so long away.

I have read many great reports on the happenings and events in and around 420 (thanks to all for the kind remarks) and can not really add much to the aforementioned reports...having been in a very high and often very inebriated state :D :D , the bagful of mushrooms (donated by a fellow ACDer) sure helped to erase a few brain cells also. Shrooms being illegal I shall mention no names but, many thanks go out to you from myself and Big Dan…they were a fu*king blast... :D :D :D

I would like to thank everyone who attended the festivities for making it one of the most enjoyable, memorable and fun filled times of my ever extending life. To try and name, let alone thank, all of those that I met over the 31 days that I was there would be impossible and probably embarrassing as I would inevitably forget someone. I would like to extend Special Thanks to a few…. to Lemming for setting the whole thing in motion and bringing us all together for this great event…. to Hestia whose organizational skills are only surpassed by her culinary skills and the lady who is the heart of this wonderful gathering…. to HB for making the boat trip so easy to organize for me and the great tour…. to Gapie, what can I say to you man, you became my guide, my translator and my very good friend. Thanks Stan.

I started to keep notes from day one of this extended visit and all went well up until the 19th of April when I noticed that I had 2 days dated the 14th and 2 days dated the 16th. Suffice it to say that when BigGuy arrived on the 16th there were 67 empty coffeeshop bags under the coffee table in the apartment and when we left on May 2nd there were 154 baggies, 6 empty Bailey’s bottles, 10 wine bottles and a small pile of beer cans.

I shall not bore you all with a day by day account because much has already been covered in Travelogues and I am basically lazy. I will, however, be posting reports on a couple of special days. One being the visit to The Canadian War Cemetery in Holten (by train) with Gapie and Bleak (who took over 300 photos of the day) and the other is the drive to Leeuwarden vie the Naval Museum in Den Helder with Big Dan and Gapie. Both trips include visits to coffeeshops along the routes. These will be posted when I get a couple of days to work on my scatter brain notes.

Once again…..THANKS ACD.

If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one.

You wrote more than I have, and nicely done by the way. Simple, touch upon a moment or two, mention a name or two, nice.
Was a pleasure to meet you. Sad that events such as these are far and few...
If ever in Europe, esp. Germany, give a shout.

Happy travels...

I aspire to be, even a quarter as cool as Trad is when I grow up....and here is a little clue as to why.

..So, Voyagers, 19th of April, and I've just met Trad at the counter whilst buying my bud. I return to the Table to roll it up ( Picture the scene, there is about a half a dozen Zombiefied ACDers, a mischievous green Frog turns up, Oiling everything in site, and folks are looking heavyeyed ) and a doobie comes my way, dripping in Oil, I think it was NIZZLE who gave me it, and I'm taking huge hits, I look around to see who I'm gonna pass this too, and people are avoiding eye contact  , they want no part of this doobie.....then I see Trad, and he looks excited/intrigued/intent  and he said to me,
"whoa, that looks good I gotta get a hit of that"
I was like fuck yeah, Trad is Hardcore!

I met Trad (I think) in Voyagers before they went to Haarlem, nice to meet you even if it was short & sweet.
