Whats your thoughts on good sites for last minute deals folks?
After reading all the 420 trip reports I feel the need. Also there is the 2nd biennial sculpture show starting in a couple of weeks and the last one was brilliant.

I reckon booking ya own easy jet flight and searching the hotels will always cut the middle man out.
Sites ya might want to try is last minute.com / laterooms / booking.com or if ya not fussed and fancy going blind then try priceline uk name your own price.. That's the option I always go for, but it's non smoking of cannabis with 100€ cleaning bill if there's any traces/smell in ya room, well that's the nh Amsterdam centre

I had no problems smoking their on my last visit. The 3rd and 5th floors are smoking and you can smell the weed when you get off the lift.

Peace,
Balou

Thats what I thought Balou, 1st time I didn't smoke in there rooms, 2nd time I thought fuck em and smoked in it, however my last time I decided to ask at front desk on their policy and was told about the charge... So I decided against it and upgraded the following night to a room with a balcony, which I was unaware of untill you mentioned it in a hotel thread

I suck at getting 'late deals' and you will probably find EJ will screw you over as you plan to head out in about two weeks, sorry I sound full of the joys tonight :?

Good luck anyway Spider and if you have a choice of more than one airport to fly from you may pick something up cheap enough :) as for hotels, I generally use booking.com or laterooms.com

Easyjet (and most other budget airlines) flights are cheaper the earlier you book them.

Thanks for all the replies, last minute trip prices this time of year looked a bit eyewatering, I just fancied 2 or 3 days mooch on me todd. Anyway because I'm a lazy sod I only want to go from Heathrow which is 30 minutes from me direct to the terminals, stanstead, gatwick, luton etc. are a mission to get to and through and while once upon a time I would have crawled to Amsters over hot coals and broken glass, well lets just say my knees wouldn't take it anymore 8).
So I can get some good midweek hotel prices from Booking.com and a good deal with eurostar, they do a through ticket to "Any Dutch Station" and I can do it for £109 return early morning out evening return so I can max the time on the ground :D . It's just under 2 hours to Brussels and 2 hours and a bit to C.S. and I live about half an hour tube ride from the London terminal, and I like trains. I have my magic flight for a stealth toke (no smoke see ) and a good book, so thats the plan.
Thanks for the help, just got to OK some days off at work tomorrow and up up and away, or rather down and under in the case of eurostar .

High Robyn and Willjay :).

I always book through Travel Republic... So cheap on flights and accommodation. Always tempted to use Teletext for stuff like the Dam, though. Seen it for £88-3nights-flight&accom-Botel<---(anyone stayed there?)

This one in june has cost £167pp on T.R.

I did that trip last August from St Pancras and i must say it is a great way to go. A nice early start means you can be in Amsterdam for lunch and back at the end of the weekend in London at a sensible time. A lot easier to bring momentos back too.
