Easyjet Questions and Travel Restrictions

Post by Taylor »

So I am looking to cancel my coach to AMS for £56 and book with Easyjet. Leaving gatwick on the 1st aug at 6:10am arriving 8:15am. returning on the 5th in the evening.

Now in the interest of saving money are Easyjet strict with the size of hand luggage. I was thinking of just packing a hand luggage bag. But then again I wanted to pickup a few pieces out there like a decent RooR piece maybe some other stuff. I am just curious as to the sizes they allow you to get away with. Some forums online say they are extremely strict, Some say you can get away with an oversized bag.

What are your experiences?

My experience, you can't get away with an oversized bag. There is usually someone checking to make sure they are within limits.

They allow hand luggage & a carrier bag for duty free... The carrier bag has saved me on both ryanair and easyjet.

I've always found they're stricter going out than they are coming back, just be aware of the stupid price they'll charge you to book a bag in once you're there though.

I used 2 bags on the way out , a sports bag(in the hold) & a small rucksack as carry on .
On the way home , everything went in the sports bag & I took that on as carry on(by mistake as it happens  ) the bag was bulging  it's 25ins by 15ins by 12ins if that helps , I did make sure I was 1 of the first on so that my bag went in the overhead 1st :)
Sending out the good vibes to those that need them right now :-)

It depends on who's at the counter or the gate and they can get bitchy if the carrier bag isn't from a shop inside the terminal. 56 x 45 x 25cm.

agree with boner, ryan air and easy jet seem to be much stricter on your bag fitting the metal frame in the UK than in holland... i have witnessed it happening too

I've used a good sized holdall everytime for hand luggage, never had to pay any extra. I use online check-in so you dont really have to deal with anyone. No worries :D :D
