It's only being introduced to the Senate. From there it can be open for debate or sent to committee for review.

Thats where I am on the issue in the UK. I've never been out of pot myself, but there's always the hassle. If it was decriminalised that would be cool with me, I'm not sure I want to turn London into Amsterdam mark 2, if that were possible.
I also have questions about MMJ. Is MMJ a step towards full de-crim/legalisation I wonder, or a dead end street? Does it come from the dispensiaries with all the usual long list of health/side effect warnings on the packet? What are the employment prospects like for MMJ medicants? i.e. if I take a pain killer for my bad knee in the morning (which I dont by the way) I could still go to work and handle a 2 hour management meeting, but if I've just toked up a bit of something tasty the same thing would be very difficult as I have to deal with all kinds of beaurocrats etc. etc.
I would wholeheartedly support an MMJ movement here if I didn't think it would create an unequal situation. I dont think I would have any problem getting a 'scrip by the way as I'm 64, done mostly heavy manual work most of my life, air tools, heavy machinary type stuff so I have enough arthritis and aches and pains, but, call it pride, I dont know, but I like that I stay away from the Doctor and dont have a pile of medicine in my cabinet.

We need to quit fking around and LEGALIZE it not half assed decriminalized. We should be able to purchase it and have it taxed and sold just like liquor.
If you dont wanna worry about paying taxes and dealing with the government then grow your own...for the majority who cant/wont grow there are herb shops
