Going it alone

Post by Fuzzy Dunlop »

Hello - I thought my dam days were over but I guess it just pulls you back eh? 6 long years it's been. :D can't wait only a few more days to go and I'll be there!

Only difference this time is I'm going it alone. Only ever been with groups of at least 3-4. So was just wondering who else has done this? What's it like walking around on your own at night. Sounds silly I know, but I've only ever been in groups so have never really had to worry about things like that.

Staying in an apartment so just planning to chill from coffeeshop to coffeeshop really.

Any tips, advice, heads up much appreciated!

Thanks :D

Five out of my last six visits have been solo.

You could possibly meet some ACD members while you're there. Post some T&Ts and hope for the best. Or, attend some you see posted, and again, hope someone shows up.

Stop at Nes and have a drink with your smoke. Even my loner ass feels home at Nes. You can even order in food there.

See what musical artists are in town and maybe take in a show.

Safe travels!

If you read through the Travelogues, you'll see that a lot of member travel solo. Out of my trips to the A'dam only twice have I went with someone else.

Peace,

ive been solo once, and i ended up with people the entire time. some americans i met on the coach, got drunk with on the ferry, and then smoked with in the morning, and then met up with a rowdy bunch of youth in the afternoon.

going solo is great, and i agree with the idea of seeing if theres a specific event/show/concert on, so that it gives you a purpose to your day. in my case it was going to chelsea v ajax pre season friendly.
