Got a question for my fellow stoners...

Post by cattales1960 »

OK some of you know that I quit my job a week after amsterdam because my right wing teabagging nut job of a boss apparently found out I went to amsterdam and was hassling me about it, threatening drug tests and the whole 9 yards so I quit. I am taking some time off but have been looking online. I noticed that some places test Hair for their drug test which I think is unconstitutional. Does anyone one know how long it stays in your hair or any web sites that give good info about it? Just curious. In the mean time, IM enjoying my extended holiday.

according to the armourgroups medics, between 3 months & 2 years, depending on the length of your hair and what drugs were taken.
hope this helps & good luck with finding a new job

Cat thats tough, I'm glad that you're enjoying a nice break but it's a shame you had to throw in the towel on account of your off duty pastimes. Still I'm sure that your skills wont be idle for long.

Blue skies and happy trails. :D :D.

Perhaps a new career in the Medical Marijuana field beckons .

thanks all so far. As far as another job, they are already crawling on me. I am an very experienced trauma nurse with exceptional references. yes I could of gone the lawsuit route but missouri is a right to work state or whatever they call it and they can fire you for whatever they feel like. I was done working there. tired of seeing the gang bangers killing each other. The drunk driver who survives but killed a family, the abused wives blah blah blah. I even went out to lunchwith my ex boss the other day and she is appalled at what happened but wants to be a reference for me. So I started applying online and the friggin phone hasnt stopped ringing since. sigh. I just want to take some time off. lol. D I will check out that website, thanks. and I do not really smoke that much. I did have a weekend in the woods with a group of hippy girls so naturally I was stoned all weekend but really thats all I smoked since amsterdam in april.

My experience tells me taking hair samples is not common, based on it has never happened to me or any of my stoner friends. Urine testing is much more common.

Good luck, I would wager your tea-party ex-boss considers himself 'Christian' also

Of course she thinks she is a christian and gets all pised off when they call for the muslim worship in the hospital chapel. I told her more than once that its for al religions. To tell you the truth, I think she went after me because she couldnt convert me to the tea party. I told her there was no way I would go that route.

I agree with ETH, the testing is usually a urine test.
Don't worry about it. Nursing is one of the best careers out there.
There is a serious shortage of nurses in the U.S. and elsewhere, and a nurse can always find a job and make very good money. The experience that you have in the the high-stress specialty of trauma nursing is in even more demand and you should not have any worries about being employable. To the contrary, if I were you, I would take a bit of time to find youself a really good job, one that you think will make you happy.
