A good friend of mine had a hair test once. He smokes about half a gram a week every week for the last 10 years. He is 6'3 about 250LBS, and was about 45 years old at the time. He is a very light smoker because he is an alcoholic. He found out he would have a hair test, so he stopped smoking for about a month, and got a hair cut (not shaved) before he went in for the drug test. He passed.

Why? I dont know. How? I dont know. But he DID pass. Everyone is different. The only thing I can think was maybe his (very) thinning hair helped, or the fact that he has done manual labor his whole life has elevated his metabolism regardless of his beer gut. I'm no scientist, just passing along a true story for you to find some confort in! Good luck passing!

Hey thanks redeyes. thats good to know. Since I really dont smoke that much I was thinking of maybe just getting a hair cut. My problem is its summer and weed is everywhere. LOL. and now were talking about making our annual trip to Humbolt county in sept to visit our good friends..(Cantona and twich have me hopped up for a west coast trip again, hehe) before I get a new job, and did I mention he is a grower for some of the clinics out there. lol. So we will see. Maybe I will shave my head. I was bald when I had the chemotherapy so why not do it again. It grows back. lol. Actually I think I will look for a job that just does pee test. that I know I can pass. Thanks for everyones help on this.

I'm also sorry about the way you have been treated Mrs "Cat"!!, it seems to be the way of the world these days, even when we keep catching 'them' out all the time and they say they are going to change, but it's a smile, whilst sharpening they're knives and carry on as before....
What i find really annoying about what you said was, once again we have a little fuck-wit, who is trying to deflect away (Probably?) from the fact that they aren't good at their job, by having a go at you!! with 25 years respected service under your belt!!
This uptight bitch sounds like she's never had a days fun in her entire life, but she see's other people like yourself, happy, confident, and content and she's jealous as hell.... as you said, she will eventually, if there is any justice in the world?, get badly caught out... but after how much damage will she have done, ....and then the distancing from blame will begin...with wrongly, lots of it coming down on the, "girl who was afraid for her job", type person.
The irony for me is, within a day of your thread, my now 'ex' employers, finally sent me the big 'Elbow' letter, telling me i was being paid off as i could no longer do my job, due to ill health, ....(an injury they are responsible for and continually ignored many members of staff who complained about this health and safety issue!!)
They, all very politically correctly, went through the process of, fucking me over, "We realise what a difficult time this is for you...." and as soon as i was officially 'Gone', there attitude flipped. Somehow it became, 'MY' fault!! Bunch of jokers.... but as my 'game' was 'social care', these are the people who are charged with protecting the vunerable, ensuring a safe place to live, rewarding social interaction and the same chances in life for anyone with a disability, building their inclusive society!! ....until these words aren't spoken at a 'Disability Awarenss Conference', but are said by their own staff, ....watch them run for cover.....Bastards, and 99% of the time they get off with it "Cat".
Sorry i ranted a bit on your thread "Cat"  but i just can't believe how often this story repeats itself....
The little positive i can take from the whole thing, is what you and otheres said, i don't have to deal with them anymore and my life in that respect is a lot less stressful and despite all, i am so glad i'm not there anymore, ....but as it was me who was willing to stand up to them when i saw something that was wrong, for the people i/we supported, as well as the staff.
....i wonder what they are getting up to, getting off with, now the 'thorn' in their side is away....
Be a 'cool' "Cat" and don't let the bastards grind you down.... 8) 8)

Arty, thanks for your words of encouragement. I am sorry you lost your job. But I did not mourn too long for this job because I was wanting out of that place anyway. I worked for them for almost 24 years and about 12 years ago a "for profit" company bought us and things changed dramatically. There name is Tenet Health corporation. They suck. Yes I hope someone from them is reading this now. I have hated working for them for a while. I thought maybe changing positions at the hospital would help me get over it. It did not. It just made me hate them more. I truly believe in Karma and this bitch will get her dues, and when that happens I hope I have a front row seat. That being said, I have a plan. I think I am going to plan my annual trip to Humbolt county. But right before that I am going job hunting, get all the application and drug testing done before I go, then have a blast getting stoned out of my gourd on some killer smoke. Come back, start the new job and all is good. If they drug test me again before I start and I flunk, no great lost because I will just move on. lol. I dont think that will happen though. Wish me luck that my plan goes through. lol. Have a great day all.

Mrs "Cat", you can get a pretty good idea about people on forums, (unless they're pathological liars!!) with the way they interact with others and this minor 'blip' is nothing that you need to be wished luck with, ....save that for a 'Euromillions' £166 million lottery ticket, if you can buy one over there!! (Then you can 'stalk' the bitch, whilst driving a "Ferrari"!!) ....it
sounds like you have all the skills, experience, confidence and contacts, for your plan to become a reality.
I love when 'Karma' comes a calling on people who believe it's fine to bully, intimitate and treat those that they can, like shit....
But as you know, 'Karma' works both ways and in this regard, if what happened to me, hadn't of happened....i truely believe the stress that they were deliberately putting me under, ....because i kept pointing out, that people were not doing their jobs, in many positions of responsibility and this was affecting the care and support being given, .... that i would have had a 'stroke' and died in the place.... somethings get too big to fight by yourself, ....and as they always said, then ignored, if it was you .....your first duty of care, is to yourself....

Time for music, which i always feel can take you in the right direction.... for me dealing with 'my' bastards, when they're trying to 'break' you and i'm feelin' pissed off!!
Bit of "Jackson Browne" "I'm Alive". Magnificent!
A song that's been playing in my head for days now, "U2", "Stuck in a moment you can't get out of"
....and the big "Fuck off to the beach" singalong, by "Aerosmith", "Amazing". If you 'cock' yer ear out the window "Cat", you just might hear me sing along,.....cause i've got it up load enough!!

WOW thats a big lottery ticket. that translates into over 250 million U.S. dollars. Thats alot of moolah. Unfortunately I can not by one of your lottery tickets here. lol. In regards to big business. They think they are untouchable with all their money and power. Thats why they keep getting away with taking down the ordinary man. You have a right to be angry but big business is hard to fight and you should not worry yourself too long over this. That can be as bad for your health as the working conditions you mentioned. I do wish you the best. In a few months, after all my current projects are complete. I will post the whole story of what happens. Until now, just be patient. My story may be a fun read for all of you.

Kind words "Cisco", thanks.
My story, like "Cat's", i would like to think, will get an 'airing' someday.... if only as a warning and a possible tact for people who may be in a similar position unfortunately....
I may no longer be working for 'them' now, but there's a long way to run with this story and just like "Rupert 'the' Murdoch", the paper trail and witness testimony of the many people they have tried to bully and intimidate, will come back to haunt them!!!
I know, cause i've got it!!
Large corporations like the one i worked for, try and do everything by the book, using their protocols and standards, which they see as they're best defence..... however, if you take a closer look, this is it's/there biggest weakness, particularly in the 'care' game.
I have already contacted a lawyer through my union, so the wheels are set in motion.
That said, seeing how my former employers operate, they will fight tooth and nail to avoid taking any responsibility, ....even when they are in the wrong and they clearly know this, ....my thoughts are, that it will turn into a pass the parcel of blame, between the various usual suspects, going up the chain of command, who did nothing when they knew a problem existed and none of them are coming out of this smelling of roses....
They employed me to fight for the rights of those who's voices seldom get heard and know what, i wasn't half bad at it!!
Now they're are about to find out, how good i was at fighting someone's corner.

cat , what happened to you is total bullshit. it is hard to believe we live in a country that allows this shit. i say if you are not coming to work rocked then who the fuck cares. there should be the "are you fucked up now test". i am on my last double secret probation chance at work and am going to the netherlands for the 4th time soon. i have to take extra time off to test myself and make sure i can pass a humiliating pee test. if they ever do the hair test thing it is time to sell shit on ebay and fuck working for anyone. thankfully, i do not live paycheck to paycheck and could probably survive for awhile but it would be no picnic. i pretty much refuse to never smoke pot, however. it is bad enough i already have to smoke this next generation k2 type shit to make sure i can pass the drug test in the time between vacations. ironically by making weed unavailable to me they have driven me to a much more carcinogenic smoke. also, you have to smoke much more to get high. double whammy. besides , testing being total bullshit in general, notice how it discriminates against the labor force. the backbone of our economy. business owners and probably most big shots in companies don't have to be drug tested. they just fuck the little guy, their slaves. don't even get me started on the "christian" boss. jesus is the next zeus

Wow its amazing how many people go thru this bullshit. Well It had been 2 weeks after amsterdam when she started this on me, even though I knew something was wrong when I came back. Well she started threatening the drug test and I told her to bring it on. At this point I had a feeling she was going after me anyway but it had been 2 weeks since amsterdam, so I was pretty confident I could pass it. Well since I was so willing to take the test she dropped that and knew it would be her fault that all her BS was causing me to lose sleep so she dropped it. I should of insisted on it at that time. I was not thinking right. Everything was happening too fast.

actually ,cisco, not necessarily. i have been routinely tested and test myself. i went to the dam for 5 days recently. i smoked every day . not only did i smoke every day but i smoked the usual amsterdam unecessary amounts. you know 20 bong hits a day with joints and bowls. just smoking to be smoking. going to coffeeshops and buying 4 different grams a day .giving some away. accepting offers to smoke others' weed. in other words probably smoking more than the average bear. i went back to work 13 days later. before going i tested myself and was not pleased with the light line in the test area. i hydrated moderately and got a more solid line. i am a big guy. somewhat athletic but could probably look like top flight athlete if i lost 20 lbs. i am not a 20 something so i am a bit older. usually these characteristics(extra fat and older) are not helpful in passing a drug test. someone who smokes a less insane amount could probably pass in 2 weeks no problem. i have passed a test in 3 days when i just smoked a few bong hits. the at work cup test is the same sophistication as the ones i test myself with. the test i passed after 3 days was a lab test at the clinic. there was an article in high times awhile back that explained that one can pass the standard pee test much quicker than thought. can it take 6 weeks to clear? sure . but that is the big exception not the rule. since cat does not chronically smoke everyday she can get away with more than the chronic daily smoker. for the record before i went to amsterdam for those 5 days i had not smoked much in the previous six months( probably 4 or 5 times. few bong hits(bong loads as my friends from sf would say) each time. in summary the article i read said most chronic smokers would test negative on the 50 ncl (?) cutoff test after 10 days
