It's spelled "lekker" and it means delicious.

Lekker is one of the words in the Dutch language which has multiple meanings. Its does not quite have as many subtle meanings as gezellig but its close.

Ballou is right, it can mean tasty (not really delicious) or good in regards to food. But it can mean sexy, good looking (she is lekker), or a place, an event, something that happens to you (a kiss, massage, etc). When applied to a person, it generally means pretty or sexy or desirable (although this is a newer usage, and a bit coarse).

To be not lekker (Niet lekker zijn') indicates "are you stupid or crazy". It can also be sarcastic.

De lekkerest generally does refer to food only, and indicates 'the best'

Learned most of this from my Dutch teacher.

Also, the usage of this word can vary quite by region (its more sarcastic in the South) and its can be a bit different in Belgium.

Yea i watch what i say to the dutchies! most of them are ok with me in all honesty anyways,& If anything its other tourists that give me the most s**t while over there .

Never seen any fights while ive been there! theres been a few arguments over the years thou ,But yea some tourists are arseholes like! really you keep a door open for someone & they dont say thanks or a nod even,Worse one was the time they were 1 ashtray on the bar of HSB & a couple of italians were at the end like miles from it,& muggings me moves it on to the middle "between us" & they then (to my shock) simply reached over & took it for themselves trully breathtaking,I dont blame the dutchies for being fed up & burned out at times! KD.
