Day One - Its Good To Be Back (6th September 06)

Post by JayK »

Got off the train at Centraal at 4pm and was determined to make to Old Church for 4:20 first smoke. After upping the pace we made it to the Bulldog hostel in 10 mins, dumped the bags in the luggage room and made it upstairs in Old Church by 420 with a gram of 2g of Jack Herer (12Eur/2g), great start to the trip, good head high with a nice amount of body stone, put a big grin on our faces.

After a couple joints of the Jack Herer we moved to Hunters to check out their menu and get a beer and a nice indica for later. We're recommended the Sensi Star (9.50Eur) so we get a gram and a couple of coronas.

Next stop is Nes for a couple of Gulpeners and a gram. After a chat with the Irish girl who works there we get a gram of the Swazi Safari, a 100% sativa. Gotta say the service was great, the girl asked us what kinda weed we were looking for, what kinda stuff we've ben smoking, our tolerance levels etc, seemed like she really cared and didn't want to sell anything the smoker would find too powerful or too weak.

The Swazi was (and is, I'm smoking a joint right now) awesome, a great head high with a nice fuzzy feeling. Went great with the beer and really set us up for the night ahead.

After Nes we got some dinner at Wok to Walk (very tasty) and went back to the hostel to unpack and freshen up. The Bulldog is a great hostel, very friendly, good security and clean. We're in a 10 bed dorm with ensuite showers and toilets. The lounge (where I'm sat now) has a bar, internet, pool table and movies) is great, plenty big enough of course smoke friendly.

Next stop was Stones for the England v Macedonia game, a fairly dull affair made far more interesting by another couple of Jack Herer joints. By the time the game had finished it was 11pm and we were shattered so we headed back to the hostel lounge to try out the Sensi Star from Hunters. We made ourselves comfortable with a cup of tea and fired up a joint each. Pretty disappointing, the weed seemed slightly damp and the effect was minimal ontop of what we had already smoked but it did give us pretty severe munchies. We played a lot of cards and I lost everytime. Just as we were gteting ready to go to bed we decided to have another Jack Herer joint for the road which we did... it absolutely killed us, at 12Eur for 2g this stuff is great! We played a coupld more hands of cards and conversation became slower... we crashed.

1st Day Purchases

Old Church - 2g Jack Herer - 12Eur - 7/10
Hunters - 1g Sensi Star - 9.50Eur - 5/10
Nes Cafe - 1g Swazi Safari - 8.50Eur - 8/10

Day 2 should be up tomorrow... basjoe, botanical gardens, stix...

Thanks for the report on that one- didn't know what that was like, but what else to expect from such a great coffeeshop?!

Enjoy!

Nice write up JayK, looks like the first day went well. Sorry to hear about the Sensi Star, I was hoping you were going to say how great it was. I grew some at home awhile back and this shit was killer. Looking forward to more daily adventures.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I'm still having a kickass time and have just spent a weekend at the Flying Pig in Noordwejk and hooked up with Big Bad Benno from the boards.

Visited a couple of coffeeshops in Leiden as well as a tonne in amsterdam, favourite so far is Stix but I'll eventually do a proper write up.

Benno, didn't catch you this morning before we left but if you're around in the Dam give me a shout on here and we'll get our smoke on. Take it easy mate and tell Jeremy he's given me a whole new insight into Texans.

Cheers,

Jay
