Tour de France anyone?
Tour de France anyone?
Any stoners also fans of Le Tour? Yea the riders don't plow through 5 guys on their way into the endzone and can't dunk from the free throw line, but these guys are some of the most impressive athletes in the world the way they crush these ridiculous climbs.
Between this and watching the US women's soccer team I've badly needed something to bridge the gap before college football starts back up.

I'm a big fan Cesar. This year's been brutal, what with the weather, dodgy tv bikes and side swipes from cars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYPDAry-A-s
How Flecha and Hoogerland got back on their bikes and rode on I have no idea. Hoogerland can hardly walk, 36 stitches across his thigh and backside yet he's still scooting up a mountain like it flat. fair play to them - some of the toughest sportsmen out there.
All hotting up now we've hit the big hills

Yesterday's stage was immense. Schleck breakaway was one of the best bits of riding I've seen in years.
Alpe d'huez is looking good so far, Contador's got a second wind from somewhere, Evans has cracked and Voekler's hanging on for dear life - what's not to love?

The schlecks really need to learn to time trial for next year.
Here's hoping rojas can spoil Cav's tour on the champs elysees.
Still think schleck breakaway was impressive if in the end futile

Re: Tour de France anyone?
got to be one of the best recent tours, like you said. A brutal first week and plenty of drama in the hills. You Scandinavians had a good year, can see boasson hagen making in a big impact in a few years and Thor rode like a climber on some of those early stages
another year to wait now til british tv shows any decent races

Always good to see some new blood win (no pun intended). Nice team ride for Evans. First time brothers on the podium at the same time I think. Andy Schleck will win the Tour in the next couple of years.

next trip...1st December!
Re: Tour de France anyone?
Agree on the 'best recent tours' front and Schleck's breakaway was awesome. Is it a big surprise that Mr.Evans won it this time? I mean, he was due.
