Hey guys, got my 2nd trip coming up next month and would like to sample some of Haarlems finest.
Will be staying in the Jordaan area again. When we were there in February we did a power of walking, mostly round in circles, lol. Was freezing!! Never made it on a tram but did manage to do almost all the shops i had pre marked on my ACD map. How long a walk roughly to Haarlem, also to Vondelpark from Jordaan? Is there a map of Haarlem cs and any recomendations? How easy is the tram system? Got my fingers crossed for a little sunshine early September to do some al fresco smoking :D
thanks in advance for any info/tips

Walk to Haarlem? It's about 20 km, so a few hours. Where are you staying in the Jordaan? If you are closer to Centraal Station end 30 = 40 minutes walking to Vondelpark. Google Maps is a good resource for walking directions in Amsterdam. The Tram system is not that hard to use. You can always ask the conductor, towards the middle of the tram, if you have any questions. How long will you be in town? If its just for a few days, just buy a tram pass that will cover your trip. You can get everything from the VVV office opposite Centraal Station in the white building.

Peace

Haarlem coffeeshop map.

It is a 20 minute train ride from Centraal Station.

Be sure to visit Birdy, north of the station.

Here are a bunch of Haarlem coffeeshop menus.
