That's my point proven that you don't understand the difference between right and left wing, or are even aware of the other ends of the political spectrum.
One last try
How does that prove your point??
All I said was that the UK Labour Party is far to right wing for me
I can see no way that it demonstrates I don't know the difference between the political left & right
Just that My politics are further left then the labour party
You either don't understand the difference, or you inadvertently made an incorrect statement describing your position. So, if you know the difference, explain. If you need to google it, just search 'Nolan diagram'. It's the easiest to digest explanation, your 2 brain cells will have no problem processing it.

You're completely braindead. If you had any knowledge of political history as you claim, you would understand that the further to the left you go, the more dire the economic situation becomes. These riots are the result of generations of growing economic dire straits. This has happened exactly as Enoch Powell predicted it in 1968, if you had any knowledge of political history, you would know this also, since it is possibly the most famous political speech made in British history. Your knowledge of politics and philosophy is nothing more than left-wing propaganda.

Watched the "Question time" special tonight all about the looting/riots. Never saw the start as i forgot it was on. Spent almost the entire time agreeing with the comments of the entire panal and the audience, all of whom were giving different opinions from the left and right. Now i'm really confused....

I didn’t get to see it myself (might have a look on catch up), but I can imagine it
(I have found myself agreeing with some of the things Call Me Dave has been saying)
There was no justification at all for what has happened, it’s not about race/religion or even poverty it was about a desire for violence & sheer greed
so all sides will be more or less condemning the actions of the thugs/yobs as any right thinking person will
The arguing will start in the coming months as to what was the root cause and how to prevent it happening again
At the moment I still tend to think the cause stems from a generation or possibly 2 with the attitude of ME, ME ,ME and sod the rest
Coupled with the fact as one person on the news put it the other day “we seem to have created a generation of consumer monsters”
How do we stop it happening again, I honestly don’t know

Through work I see a lot of people that are struggling to survive, that are having to fight for the help they need, but still trying to give back to the community
But I also see the ones that don’t care, don’t want/are beyond help
One thing is for sure I can’t see this being sorted quickly and unfortunately I can see it happening again
A very sad state of affairs :(

Everyday i see 100s trying to survive, the minute i walk out my door even just looking out my window, everyone in my Area struggles to survive and make ends meet.

See problem with this forum is none of you struggle do you realy, none of you realy know what it is like to have nothing or nothing to work towards. Alot of you are of an older age where anything that dont fall in line with your thinking is wrong. How many of you actually live on a modern day inner city Council estate?

It sort of reminds me a bit like that programme where they send posh twats into estates to live for a week and they cant cope, yet the same posh twats who cant cope living on inner city council estates make our decisions.

Alrite Kermit i know what your saying...BUT I'm 25, my area of Belfast is classed as one of the most socially and economically deprived in the whole of Western Europe never mind the UK. Still doesn't give people the right to steal other peoples property.

To be honest though i don't quite see why people weren't more angry two or three years ago when the MPs where doing abit of looting themselves :|

"25211" I think you'll find the programme very interesting.

"Kermit", I, probably like many others on the forum, also only have to look out my window and i'll see people who are in the same position as many you describe.... you don't have to live on a modern day inner city council estate to fall into that category.
As for "everyone in my Area struggles to survive and make ends meet", that's a bold statement. But then again it really comes down to people's idea of what that statement means to each of them. Can't get by without the latest trainers, latest video game, etc.. or, the electricity has been turned off, going round to friends and family to share their food and heat, etc..
So none on the forum struggle, none really know what it's like to have nothing!
Another bold statement. What was the special offer today "Kermit", 'buy into one, get one free'!
"Alot of you are of an older age where anything that dont fall in line with your thinking is wrong."
What?!! For being such a good customer at 'Boldstatements.com', did they throw in another for free...
I'm 46 as i mentioned earlier in a post, not that old i think, but old enough to know right from wrong when i see it.
What is the age "Kermit" that gives you wisdom and how long does this last, before you don't understand what's happening around you?
At 46 years of age does everything that went before, all the things i've seen, count for nothing?
Life's a learning curve.
How old are you "Kermit", if you don't mind me asking.

What caused it? greed, mindlessness and a total lack of respect for others as well as themselves

To add to what artymac said, I take it you have a subscription to sweepingstatement.com

How old is old as far as you are concerned?
I think you will find that Wisdom comes with experience which is hard to gain when you are still young and convinced you know everthing
As George Bernard Shaw said: "Youth is wasted on the young."

Telling the generation coming up now to go get a job......
Maybe they should all sign up to the Armed Services, the last bastion of the unemployable........
I know more people who are out of work, and attending interviews, training courses, filling out applications, and basically, begging for employment..... yet still have to live on , what 60 quid a week?
To say gettin a job, would solve these issues here is laughable.

One things for sure, this thread really has opened my eyes...

I have a job... whoop di do

All you old twats should take note of the fact that the best statement in this whole thread came from one of the youngest members. Thats what you dont like but tuff shit your going to have to accept it.

Yes you had that opurtunity and took it but you had the chance!!

as for your second statement i dont think anyone on this forum is super human that they can take on a 10+ group, all on top of you in one go, THE END to that matter.
