Craft Beer

Post by Preme »

Anyone recommend good places into craft beers.
Specifically where can I get an American style IPA?
I like really hoppy beer!

I know De Bierkoning for bottles, it's amazing! there are also a few really good drinking spots near there. They're near Dam Sq if I remember right, but I wonder if there's other good places around for hoppy beer not just the sweet monk juice?

Yeah that's exactly the sort of place I was hoping for!
The other one I liked was Gollem but sounds like I need to go say some prayers.

Cheers!

My fave bar is http://www.indewildeman.nl/ - a lot of belgium beer but I've seen IPA on the board before, they also have a couple of hundred bottled beers.

Yeah I have been in that one before as well and did rate it very highly, they had a keg of something nice on tap, very many beers and good location.

I will second that, it’s probably my favourite bar in the universe
Been visiting off & on since I was 16 or 17
Spent a great couple of hours there about 3 years ago one Wednesday in October chatting with an old Dutch lady (must have been 70+)
She had come down to Amsterdam from Nijmegen to buy sausages from her favourite butcher and always goes there when in town (maybe just an excuse)
The difficult bit was getting out for the train as she was saying “no you stay here and have one of these with me, it’s only 11%”

The correct address for the beer temple is Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 250 1012 RR Amsterdam, Netherlands not Spuistraat. Been there several times and have the t-shirt! There's a sister shop that specializes in the beers of Dutch breweries, http://www.arendsnest.nl. that's worth a visit.

'not just that sweet munk juice' :D i love trappist beers each to their own taste :D

Try the De wildeman en Flying Dog Farmhouse IPA. Lekker! On tap atm. Brewed exclusively for De Wildeman.

Another great hoppy beer is Hopus (Hops) on tap in cafe Belgique
