Europe & USA Economy

The following must now be shared with my brothers across the pond in response to London's riots:
Burn the working man's shit huh? Ill bet nobody in the upper/upper class even came close to being hurt/robbed/vindicated. Very stupid violence that solves nothing! England's and America's governments are, and have been fucked up for some time. There is very little the average man can do besides vote, and spend money wisely. But these two things have more power than you can ever realize if you are disciplined and convince others to do the right things with their hard earned currency.
Our countries used to make things, now we just go in the next guy's pocket. This goes for England and USA. Please join me in boycott of all things China! Specifically made in China. You're money matters, it talks directly for you! I understand it is not possible to always buy products from or near your homeland, but a bit of research on the Internet goes a long way! Buy older used products that last instead of brand new from big box stores. You save more money and get more life out of it!
Remember China has more people than all of Europe & America combined. They chose communism, let them have their insane problems! They do very little besides counterfeit! Even plagiarism is considered an acceptable form of educating one's self.
How would you like it if someone came into your place of work, and started talking shit to you about your life's work/job? Trashing your office, factory, and such? This is what you are doing by buying products from China!
Disclaimer: This is not anti-Chinese for those smart enough to migrate out of China! I commend those that did!

The British government controls a larger percentage of the British economy than the Chinese government controls of the Chinese economy. China isn't really comunist at all, they left that behind, that's why there's massive economic growth in China.

There is massive economic growth in China because there is a planned and controlled economy, combined with massive population growth, increasing education and low wages (which are low since their currency is artificially kept weak, another reason Chinese exports are so cheap). To say they are not communist at all is not really relevant, it reamins a totalitarian and controlled economy.
I have worked with some Chinese clients, and they are after one thing, knowledge. They will buy, beg or steal it.
The OP has a point, but sadly is a losing battle.

Sorry but this is just wrong, look at the facts. China was in downfall for a long, long time. After the Chinese government saw the success in Hong Kong, which was due to the government leaving the economy alone, China followed suit and finally, more and more people everyday are getting out of poverty. In Britain, the opposite is the case.

Whatever. China uses HK as an outlet for its foreign trade, the banks, tradiing houses, etc. They did not learn anything from there they did not know before the handover. China is one of the most regulated economies on earth, almost everything is planned. This is why they were able to put in a high speed rail system is such a short amount of time, or building huge dam. Both of these projects are examples of massive government intervention (not to mention corruption and mis-management).
Almost every aspect of Chinese business involves the government in some way. Many, many of the main business are owned by either the PLA (army) or the party. Its not some great example of laissez faire economics.
China was not exactly in downfall for a long time, they were basically a fudal (spelling) economy for 1,000+ years. Add industrialization to a country that big and backwards, and you will naturally see growth. The leaders of China have been clever enough to channel that growth to increase their own power.

I haven't said anything that can't be verified by doing a quick search on google, I suggest you do that.

It doesn't have to be! You have to believe in the butterfly effect. If I try my best to buy consumer goods from in and around my homeland (USA/CANADA/MEXICO) instead of from China, then that inspires you to do the same. Maybe someone in your life becomes inspired ect.... I'm not saying this will happen in our generation, but perhaps the next one or two? We put a man on the moon, The Netherlands has made hard drugs almost a non-issue! So many smart minds in so many places!
Are their sacrifices? Maybe pay 30% - 50% more for products produced in & around your homeland. What if that item lasts 100-300 times longer though? Sure there will be sacrifices but the end result is a better homeland for you, me, and the next generation.
REMINDER: The mob mentality is "ME! ME! ME" I'm trying to illustrate how WE can do better.

I suggest you do your own research to back up your own arguements,no? Regardless, your points are quite vague. A cursory look at the Chinese economy will tell you its the most planned in the world. And virtually all major companies are controlled by the Government or the PLA.

Without its articifically low wages and almost complete disregard for environmental concerns, China would not be such a success. I am pretty sure you would not like living there, but by all mean move fromt the UK there!

"The biggest obstacle to China becoming the world’s No. 1 economy is China.
The communist nation’s determination to keep as tight a rein on its economy as it has on its citizens will lead to failure -- just as it has for other countries that embraced central planning schemes.
China is reversing its flirtation with a type of quasi- capitalism that allowed entrepreneurs to thrive and propelled the economy forward at an annual rate of about 10 percent."
First 3 paragraphs from the news link you gave me, supports exactly what I said. Did you even read it or just post a random link?

Here you will see government spending as a percentage of GDP for countries around the world ranked. Notice UK is 50%, China a measly 22%.

Consumers are 50% of the market. The point of the post is consumer spending. Buy for your homeland as much as possible. Its the best we can do for now. Dis-proving anyone's "fact/opinion" such say my "statistic." Two economies: Global & Local(reefer) economy. Everyone like HG better anyway right?
Shake hands, and burn one.
