So, I riddle you this fellow ACD members.. when is it time to quit? Personally I will say that it is probably going to be lights out for the smoking scene shortly after my return home in November. getting too old for the "running game" that weed happens to bring on in my neck of the woods. I guess I have become a bit of a snobby smoker, as i won't typically waste my time with shitty weed anymore.. but at 50$ to 60$ for an eigth of high quality stuff is it really worth it?? Maybe if i lived in Colorado or Cali. , but until i can grow my own.. I just don't see it being worth it. ( I have been smoking/cooking with weed for the past 26 years, so i am speaking from experience) I suppose getting this off my chest will just make the Amsterdam trip that much better!. P.S. this could all change when I bring back some "big bud" seeds for my younger friend I am giving my Emily's garden to in November.. HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will you still need weed , when your 64?

Bringing up an interesting topic..... a friend of mine , who quit smoking weed recently, not due to health issues ( we are both 40) , but the "burden" (please excuse the term) of family commitment. With MJ being illegal where we live, It is too risky dealing with some of the how do I say this nicely? "interesting" people you have to get your gear from.. and frankly getting too difficult to find anything worth smoking anymore. So, he asked me today.. "Do you still see yourself getting high when you turn 50? " . I was taken back by him and this new found moral position, ( as he was once my dealer and made boatloads of $$ mind you).

Like my grandparents, as i grow older, i'll probably just potter round the garden.
Except my garden will be indoors and well hidden. Therein lies the answer.

since I turn 55 in November...I feel qualified to answer this one...I still smoke, just not as much...plus the gear is so good now that I can smoke less. However, most folks my age smoke in secret due to extended family and job...most of us quit or slowed down to almost quitting while we built careers, families, etc....now we have the $ and the time to really enjoy and appreciate great gear and annual trips to AMS...I see myself smoking at 80...hopefully legal by then...

Will I still be smoking when I'm 64, I sure hope so. If not, it means I'm dead. NOT GOOD!!!
Besides the above, the only rational reason why I wouldn't be smoking when I'm 64 is if it became detrimental to my health.
Smoke 'em if ya got 'em 'til ya can't...
Happy toking for life...

Honestly now that I have my responsibilities I think the November will be it for me. I worked too hard to get where I'm at now to lose it all for weed.
So I guess I got to make November the trip to remember.

i believe
your friend's view is based on risk vs. reward
getting busted for dealing with sketchy people
that have little to no business sense
isn't good for the "wife, kids & hybrid car driving" lifestyle
the street/house dealer game is fine
when you are younger
and willing to put up with the chaos of it
but as you get older
you want to deal with people with organizational skills
and sense of customer service
i.e. they understand it's a business
and the customer is what keeps them in business
buying from people with erratic schedules
and questionable/suspect supply chains
isn't where it's at
p.s. two decade from now
your friend might be cashing those social security checks
and farming acres

I'll be 70 on my next birthday so the answer WAS yes back then. Heading for Amsterdam in about three (3) weeks so the answer IS still yes!FlyByNite wrote:I am 64 and I smoke weed.
