A French study of American pot smokers shows they are on average skinnier than non-tokers.
"Obesity rates among participants in the two surveys who reported no use of cannabis were 22 percent and 25.3 percent, respectively. Those who fessed up to smoking pot at least three days a week, however, had obesity rates of 14.3 percent and 17.2 percent, respectively."
Does this coincide with your experience? From my experience it does.
Yeah... it lowers your blood sugar. So if you don't compensate by eating more (munchies) you might well end up skinnier. I'm no Dr, but that seems possible.
And I remember a report a few years back where UK doctors were saying cannabis consumption had a similar effect on healthy young adults as light exercise would! (in respect of lowered blood sugar and increased heart rate)

Imo it doesn't lower blood sugar, I had every sort of blood test and all was normal.
When I gave up for 3 months I became alot fitter, altough my job keeps me on my toes. Everyone is different and everyones matabolism is different. Mines very fast so struggle to put fat on.

Please stop making such specious remarks as this...as a type 2 diabetic sufferer,i can assure you that it brings my blood sugar level down. When in Amsterdam,i continually have to drink Loozas and eat sweet stuff (which i dare not do at home) to keep from experiencing a hyperglycemic attack, which is basically a "whitey" and why people need to eat or drink something sweet to return to a pleasantly stoned reality.
A factor maybe, but one of many I think.
I'm a speedy sativa lover myself, built like a racing snake. I would def weigh more if I toked indica and hash all the time although I've had some fast hashes for sure.
Maybe we dont drink so much beer.

Thats because your pancreas is working correctly and regulating your blood sugar level (BSL).With Diabetes ,the pancreas is defective and cannot control it,which normally results in sufferers having a too high BSL,whereas with Marijuana,I find it has the opposite effect.
Darkglobe, I am thinking that there are multiple reasons for a "whitey" there is blood pressure lowering, which is the direct results of THC binding, there is hypoxia, from excessive coughing, and a lack of oxygen tot the brain. and there certainly can some blood sugar drop component that can cause it too. I'm no doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday inn Express last night!
