Humbolt County
Its that time of year again for our annual trip to Humbolt county. IM excited and will try and post some pics of the smoke up there. My friend is a grower for some of the distributors and He is saving some special stuff so I can make some brownies and cook with it. Anyone have any good recipes? Please post the links. thanks.

Re: Humbolt County
Have a great time! I'm jealous, as that's a dream trip of mine.
No brownie recipe, but here's a cookie recipe that I used to love in my gluten-eating days. They freeze amazing. I used to substitute MJ butter or MJ Ghee for the butter. The recipe is modified from here:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/ ... ies-232391
Triple-Chocolate Cookies
10 ounces bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup plus 2 teaspoons all purpose flour
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted MJ butter, room temperature
3 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 ounces (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
pinch salt
Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 325°F. Line 2 large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Melt chocolate in microwave, or stir chopped chocolate in top of double boiler set over simmering water until melted and smooth; remove from over water. Cool melted chocolate while you smoke.
Meanwhile, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt into medium bowl. Beat sugar and butter in another medium bowl until crumbly. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add lukewarm melted chocolate salt and vanilla and beat just until blended. Fold in dry ingredients, then chocolate chips.
Drop chocolate cookie batter by heaping spoonful onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake cookies until tops are evenly cracked but cookies are not yet firm to touch, about 13-17 minutes. Cool cookies completely on baking sheets. Using metal spatula, transfer cookies to resealable plastic bags and freeze cookies overnight. (Can be made 3 days ahead. Keep frozen.) Will last for months in the freezer, can be eaten frozen if you're impatient or thaw in about 45 minutes at room temperature. If I'm going to keep them a long time I individually wrap packs of 2 cookies with aluminum foil before putting in a freezer bag and freezing.

Re: Humbolt County
The question is.............
do you like the way weed taste's in food
all of my lab work, has been in making strong eatables, that do not taste like weed or pot.
Any box mix will do...any kind
I have made corn muffins, carrot cake, ginger spice loaf, and pound cake
but pound cake is tricky...
and red velvet cake, mixed with orange, turned into a grapefruit tasting cupcakes
same thing with cookies.....any mix
want strawberry, lime, orange, pistachio
I use both flavoring in a bottle, and jello or pudding mix...( not always together )
I also make oil from the stems, stalk, and twigs, for my dog's hip pain
Dont forget.... the everclear tincture made from trim
you can evaporate off the alcohol.... for a type of gooey hash
or....add you're fav liquor.....like an after dinner cordial
Note ... if you like rum....you can use Bacardi 151
Make rock sugar candy... to use as sweetner in tea's and coffee
Use olive oil....and make salad dressing
use the greens as you would spinach, or kale
add to pasta, and Lasagna dish
I just got an ice cream maker.............Back into the lab

Re: Humbolt County
Thanks geeky and labrat. I think the trick is to cook the pot in the butter and maybe that helps. Im sure going to try since I have unlimited amount of bud to work with
hehe. Im actually swimming it out there(not the butter, the pot), LOL. Arsonist, we are actually flying into arcata so we are very north but their house is in a small town in the redwoods, about 45 mins south of the airport.

labrat- I followed you on everything except the rock sugar. Can't figure out how that will work. What's the method?
