9 days in Amsterdam

Post by EasyRollin »

Hey everybody, if you would, can you give me the best way to get from Schipol airport to Eden Manor Amsterdam hotel? And, what would be the best all around transport from the hotel to the coffeeshops and events during the cannabis cup and beyond for those couple days. Thank you in advance for your advice.

PS Where can I get the best rates on Euros from the dollar?

For door to door direction to anywhere in The Netherlands, visit http://journeyplanner.9292.nl/ It will involve a train + bus, very easy to do.

I would suggest you buy a GVB pass valid for your entire stay. Your hotel is not far from the Centrum buy the bus/tram/metro. Besides, if you are buying a Judge's Pass you'll need to get to/from the expo. I don't know how comfortable you would be with renting a bike but that is by far the best way to get around town. For more info on the bus/tram/metro pass...http://www.gvb.nl/english/travellers/ti ... ckets.aspx

If you withdraw Euros out of the ATM you will pay a lower exchange rate. Check to see if you're bank charges any additional fees for international withdrawals. Don't forget to let your bank know that you'll be traveling abroad. The last think you'd want is to arrive and have the machine eat your card. You also may choose to have your daily limit increased temporarily. If you want to buy Euros before you leave, Wells Fargo has some of the most competitive rates, usually a few cents over the interbank rate. FYI they charge non customers $5 to buy foreign currency. https://www.wellsfargo.com/foreignexchange/

I like the train, but the hotel shuttle can be very convenient.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

Thank you for the information.

You have been posted on the September Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=69957

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
