London - AMS eurostar

Post by oooh aaar traktor »

Hi folks!

Does anyone have experience of going St Pancras -> Brussels and onto amsterdam?

I cant seem to find an answer to my question online

Just wanted to know if when arriving in Brussels, do I need to change stations to get on the intercity or does it leave from Brussels midi?

I might stop for a few beers on the way if I have to transfer to Brussels noord.

Also, are the intercity trains reliable on the weekends? I dont have a thalyx ticket as Im trying to do this on a budget so need ot figure out what time is best to leave Central to make the connecting eurostar in brussels on the way home.

See you in a couple of weeks lovely Dam

I've done it a few times man, couldn't be easier, same station just down a level and takes a few minutes. A very nice way to get there IMO. :D.
What a long strange trip it is.

I have had the non-Thaylis Ams to Brussels train cancelled or delayed a number of times, especially on the weekend so I suggest leaving a bit early if you need to make a connection.

It's not bad really, if you went this weekend you can do it for about £110 return, friday out monday back, booking advance you can save £10/£20. It's a good deal if you live near St Pancras, Ashford or Ebbsfleet and the extra journey time is cancelled out by not having to mess about with airport faff.

Hit the Amsterdam (any Dutch station) button. It's quite neat because like it says you can go to and return from any Dutch station you want.
