Re: Watching UFC in Dam
Your best bet is bring a laptop and look for an online stream. An event won't start till 2/3 am , most pubs and coffeeshops will be closed, if you're staying in a nice hotel the residents bar might show it.
Been a MMA fan for 10+ years and travels to the Dam have always ended in me watching it in my room or waiting till I get home.
There is a chance if you prefer to not see it live and on the sunday ESPN uk repeat the event at 10 pm , Stones could surely show it then.
Hope this helps.
P.S Most UFCs in CET start at 3 am ... 2 am GMT 6pm PST and 8pm EST

Re: Watching UFC in Dam
We just download it and watch it in our apartment the next day. That's what we did last weekend. It's easy to avoid seeing the results in Amsterdam so it's rare to have it spoiled.
Because life is too short to smoke bad bud.
Re: Watching UFC in Dam
Ufc isn't big in holland its K1 that is but here is a link where you may find a sorts bar that plays it, but at 3am start (main event 4 am ish) its hard to fund somewhere at this time,
You could always ask DC who works in T'nes to see if he's gonna av it on,probably won't as he's not gonna pay for it out his own pocket!!

if you like ufc why not wait outside a nightclub. If trouble doesnt kick off, try strirring it a bit- drunks are easy to provoke. sums up the world these days- ufc SHOULD be banned, strong weed IS getting banned. Boxing is a sport, ufc is a televised brawl.
We cant stop here this is bat country

What is this guy on about? Boxing is part of MMA as is Judo, BJJ, Wrestling. Some people should try learning about a sport before making such stupid statements like it should be banned!!!

Exactly that mate, if you sit down and watch a UFC event or any other MMA event, you will see its not just a brawl, its very technical plus there are so many different disciplines that are used. What i love about it is the respect, 2 fighters in a cage kicking the shit out of each other for 15 minutes then hugging it out at the end.Stamford wrote:Agreed DanStonerDan wrote:What are you talking about? Of course there are a few fighters who break the rules and don't act in a professional way but name me one sport where every participant is an angel

Guys relax UFC isn't as mainstream over here in Europe as it is in the states i'm in Ireland and it's not full mainstream yet only people who are into combat sports watch it.
This posters opinion are those that don't get the new rules or judge it from hearing about it though a misinformed person.
The UFC or MMA rather in generals is a combat sport that tests true athletes to fullest you have to be well versed in many striking and grappling arts such as wrestling muay thai jiujitsu , boxing , judo , kick boxing and various sorts of tae kwando and karate.
The sport is regulated by the government in the country it fights in there is random drug testing like any sport i.e soccer ,nfl , athletics.
The athletes themselves come all various walks of life , but the general poplation of the athletes at the top are all college graduated havoing previousluy wrestled or played football in college.
Generally 90% of the non US citizens fall into the same category. Damian Maia a UFC Middleweight is from Brazil he is a multiple world champion JiuJitsu player and ufc Fighter and he holds a degree in journalism.
Rich Franklin a Former UFC Middleweight Champion was a highschool math teacher.
There is no savagery either the gloves are lighter and the ref stops the fight if he needs to way quicker than boxing. There has been no serious injuries or deaths since the UFC was started in the early early 90's as compared to boxing related or serious head traumas that have occurred in boxing.
It's a beautifull thing. Just watch a fighter like Jon Jones or Frankie Edgar fight and tell me its not a professional skilled set they have aquired.
