no they don't and can not control us abroad, that would be a violation of all types of treaties, what they want to do is out law free speech on forums like this and make it a crime.

well it looks as if its atleast being talked about which quite frankly is frightening in itself. if it went through i doubt it would be enforcible..but again even the fact that its being discussed scares me.

I don't think that would ever happen.
Just like Allan Sugar said the iPod would fail.

Damn lawyers & politicians making work for themselves.cantona7 wrote:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/0 ... lp00000009
And the press trying to sell more newspapers.
Sounds like a law that can't be enforced, at best selectively enforced.
Hope this gets nipped in the bud (pun intended), and from the way it sounds, it will.
Can't post when I'm high, can't post when I'm not. This happens when I do.

The key part of that story is "house bill"- like the right wing in the netherlands, they do not have the power to implement that sort of policy. It's never going to happen.
That being said, it is already current U.S. law that it's illegal to have sex with minors abroad even if it is legal in that jurisdiction.

Because life is too short to smoke bad bud.

From the article...
"Civil libertarian attorney and author Harvey Silverglate says the bill raises several concerns. "Just when you think you can't get any more cynical, a bill like this comes along. I mean, it just sounds like an abomination. First, there's no intuitive reason for an American to think that planning an activity that's perfectly legal in another country would have any effect on America," Silverglate says. "So we're getting further away from the common law tradition that laws should be intuitive, and should include a mens rea component. Second, this is just an act of shameless cultural and legal imperialism. It's just outrageous."
It came as no surprise to me to see that this "abomination" is sponsored by Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas). Notice the (R-Texas)? This, if not already coined elsewhere, is quickly becoming synonymous with racism, bigotry, and Big Brother. What happened to less government intrusion Republican/Tea Party? Maybe hypocrisy and ignorance should be synonymous with it as well? I love me some Texas, but some of these people are WAYYYY out of control. YA THINK?
Nothing happy about this at all. Texas is turning into a Gestapo State and wants to do the same not only to the rest of America (check out their Board of Education), but globally as well. See how easy it was for me to tie them to Nazis? Right out of their own playbook.
Happy trails?...
