Interesting Amsterdam proposal to just give temporary passes to tourists, if the Weitpass is imposed on them.

can somebody please just tell me if i can go to amsterdam in summer 2012 and smoke cannabis legally? all these stories are so confusing because i cant read anything definite. im from the UK by the way.

Nah, not yet.... but who knows what tomorrow/next week/next month will bring.
In the meantime keep an eye out in the News sections on this forum. Stuff like this is always hot news on ACD.

Just to clarify the article is only about Amsterdam's plans if the worst happens but their is no plans in Amstredam to impose the Weedpass and the last I heard it will take some time to impose it nationally. The Dutch government has plenty on its plate with the Euro crisis at the moment so I doubt it is a priority.
