& It’s only just gone half past November!!
I think the word I am looking for is ridiculous or is it pathetic?

I found it looking at nature pics. The description says - Lightning bolts appear above and around the Chaiten volcano as seen from Chana, some 30 kms (19 miles) north of the volcano, , as it began its first eruption in thousands of years, in southern Chile May 2, 2008. Cases of electrical storms breaking out directly above erupting volcanoes are well documented, although scientists differ on what causes them. Picture taken 2008

That's absolutely magnificent. Mother nature wins hands down every time, "pengaldinho" 8) 8) 8) 8)

"Spidergawd", are they offering odds on this one working once/if it gets to the surface? I really hope it does as this is my sort of stuff!!! They should send it to the last one they sent to give it a 'bump' start.    Robot wars from Mars ....i'm sure there's the beginnings of a sci-fi book there!!
How long's it gonning to take to get there, do you know?

They did/are doing good Arty. It was a 90 day mission really, 7 years later "Opportunity" is still trundling around doing experiments beyond it's designers wildest dreams and "Spirit was doing the same until it got a wheel stuck while it was in the shade and finally exhausted it's power. I dont know what it is but just looking at images on the JPL website, http://marsrover.nasa.gov/home/index.html man I find them so trippy.

The Martian dust storms would have stopped a camel, but not these little machines. :D :D.

Edit. 7 months abouts to get there, arrives in June.

@pengaldinho, thats a nice image, do you see how the Damrak goes right down through the town to join the Amstel ? When I first went to Amsterdam in the early 60's, on a ship, that was still a busy commercial waterway from the docks before they moved out of town. Chock a block with cargo barges. And De Kuil just up the alley was real old skool beer bar, with smoke.
Sorry went off down memory lane there, it's my age I'm afraid .
