To reduce America to war and politics? Sure we can be an obstreperous bunch, but MAN I must say I never liked history myself also, didn't understand the point on dwelling on what you cant change. Until I realized there are lessons to be learned, sadly, too often we dwell on the negative lessons, not the positive lessons. Perhaps war/politics wasn't so bad for so many of us, because the wars in our generations (grandparents/parents/children 100 year span) lifetime weren't on/near our land/borders. Sure we can hear stories, and learn the lessons from them in logic, but to live it is MUCH different. To be a civilian and hear/see/feel the bombs dropping?... Fuck, soldiers hear/see that "voluntarily" and get paid for mental issues for life... Good things civilians can't or the world would be bankrupt Every war is a banker's war anyhow. That's why enemy soldiers can spend Christmas day together, or perhaps a bit of hash Guess it just depends on the location of the battle.
