Best strain for episodic migraine/headache treatment?

Post by InLoveWithKerouac »

Hey. Well, I suppose the title is sorta self explanatory :)

I get these migraine/headache attacks once in like 3 months. It's not as painful as it is annoying if you know what I mean. Not to say that it doesn't hurt at all, though. All in all, I would consider it as moderate I guess.
Which strain(s) do you think would work best in this case?
One more thing, I don't want to get absolutely baked since I usually have a pretty hectic study load (and weed makes me feel retarded the next day), so please keep this in mind :) I mean, is there like a "clean-ish" strain that doesn't make you feel groggy-foggy the next morning?

P.S. I live in A'dam so feel free to include specific coffeeshops with your suggestions :)

Your input is appreciated guys.
Thanks.

I reckon oil, afghan kush and herijuana all fail badly on the 'not getting too baked' bit

I'd be more inclined to go for something like Orange Bud or Kali Mist. Preferably in a vape.

Or Ibuprofen

Oil hits on a nail are so similar to a vape its untrue so just got to disagree with that infact the benefits of oil i rate so highly i would rather have oil than bud. You dont want to sit toking low grade bud for hours with a pounding head (I get them alot), you need a quick fix which oil and nails provide.
Sorry to blow your expert opinion  on oil out the water as you seem to be the expert

Migraines are caused by different things. The reason you get your migraines will determine which strain will be most effective. Sometimes a sativa such as trainwreck will help me, but other times an indica such as romulan does the trick. My sister-in-law gets relief from la confidential. Some experimentation may be necessary to find the strain which works best for you. Try asking a budtender, they may be able to steer you in the right direction. Good luck in your quest. Myself and many others do feel your pain.

I honestly dont think smoking anything is a good idea for treating a headache (especially a migraine) as any resulting cough will just make it worse, I'd look into eating a cake or something, Paradox's are about the best in Amsterdam.

i always smoke to get rid of headaches or other aches.

when i have a headache ,i useally smoke White Widow , powerplant or sumthing like dat.
I'm dutch so i useally smoke with tabacco in it , but when i have a headache tabacco only makes things worse
so i smoke pure at those times
