Amsterdam High Times Cannabis Cup 2011... This just in: Police have reportedly made several arrests of vendors, but no tourists have so far been arrested despite having their weed taken... The mayor of Amsterdam will decide whether or not the Cannabis Cup will be permitted to continue tomorrow and will release a statement later tonight.... The reason given for the action is that vendors have been found to be violating the Opium Act by "giving away" free pot... Keep checking back for more live Cup updates!

This is really harsh, infact it completely sucks. Maybe this is this beggining of the end for things in amsterdam, this year the cannabis cub, next year possibly thc limits who knows the year after that, by 2015 the mayor may even decide to back the weed pass system and implement it in amsterdam, who knows????

Me and the wife are hoping to get 2 weeks out there next year but i expect that will be our last trip if things change to much.

This morning, however, police in Amsterdam are in the process of raiding the 24th annual High Times Cannabis Cup Expo. Possession of marijuana has been decriminalized in the Netherlands. But according to tweets on the scene, "everyone will have their buds confiscated, but no one will be charged or fined. This is the first time this has happened in 24 years.

People work/hustle hard for there paper, pay shit loads to attend the "CC", to be distressed by law enforcement, it seems that cannabis is being less tolerated in the city/country that has been tolerating people's freedom & rights to puff ganja for so long.
