I've been informed it was Mila who got arrested, did she have a load of weed to demonstrate her extractors or something?

Any idea what all this means for regular coffeeshop tourism in 2012?
I certainly wouldn't want to visit a place where police officers target coffeeshop visitors.

I wouldn't worry about it, by all accounts this was just a huge clusterfuck by all involved.Dark_Wing wrote:Any idea what all this means for regular coffeeshop tourism in 2012?

Re: Cannabis Cup Raided By Police
I've been following this thread for the last few days..not to mention the videos and some reports on the net and I kinda came to a conclusion..just my logic that's all.
Personally I don't give a rats behind about the CC in general...(no disrespect to the visitors, aficionados, and everybody else....that's just not my bowl of soup thats all) the CS 'scene' or 'reality' in Amsterdam is good enough and things weren't any worse before the CC came into being...anyways I was reasoning along these lines: one thing is to sell ganja/hash in a coffeeshop where in one way or another the competent authorities can control to a certain point the 'exchange' that's going on. A tax is levied on sales and this goes into the hands of the govt. Another thing (and this I mean looking at it purely from their perspective) is attending an expo where seed companies, nute producers, bong makers, etc are supposed to be advertising their goods and informing visitors on developments in their respective fields AND.....weed and hash starts being handed-out. Now, where do you put that?? It's not a sale and can't be taxed, and the sale of ganja is restricted to CS's so I guess you start hitting a grey area (not the CS
) where legality and the application of the opium law starts to get tricky....the worst thing is when they end-up finding people carrying 20, 30, etc g's on them.
So, I don't believe they'll start widespread hourly/daily/weekly raids of CS's because until today that tolerance has been shown (infact for a long time)...except maybe when they raid a CS only to find K's and not G's and in that case it's cause they knew what was going on. I myself don't agree with these raids but hey it's part of the game and that game has gotten bigger with the passing of each year....Despite all the scandal and awe I think it will be business as usual after this CC hooha is over and everybody who just wants to hit the CS's and get ripped as hell can do so in the usual tranquility.

I know personally a very established member of the Dutch Police due to my work & I am,afraid to say these type of raids are gonna be the norm. In the words of my friend " we are encouraged to search & question all people in the premises regardless of lack of formal, charge, however formal warnings will be given"
I ask you? What ever happened to Dutch tolerance
This is bad, very bad.

Re: Cannabis Cup Raided By Police
at a 60% tax rate, the government is basically selling marijuana to the public, and paying the propreitors of coffeeshops a 40% commission on sales.Kingdoc wrote:east_island wrote:I've been following this thread for the last few days..not to mention the videos and some reports on the net and I kinda came to a conclusion..just my logic that's all.
