In California an adult can ask a doctor to recommend cannabis for many different types of ailments. The Law allows doctors to recommend cannabis for any condition or illness in which cannabis provides relief. The law allows an adult to go to a doctor and ask for a cannabis recommendation because they want help sleeping or because they have migraines or they have been smoking/vaporizing it for years and it makes them a lot happier person.

There are many people that have been using cannabis for years and just want safe access, so they go to a doctor and ask for a recommendation for their particular condition which may be simply to help them with sleep or migraines. Safe access is the key.

Some people go to doctors to ask for pain killers like vicodin and oxycontin, a couple of addictive hard drugs. Quite often they don't tell the truth to the doctor.

It's not important to get caught up in the whole cannabis medicine or getting high thing. It's really about adults having the freedom to get safe access to cannabis for any condition in which cannabis provides relief.

I though the old guy was going to set his thumb on fire!!! they started him out with chemdog and Headband hash? really?? ( not what he needed based on his symptoms IMHO ... He sounded like he needed a good strong indica and some Doritos ....... that would have given him the spiritual awakening he needed. And smoking alone like that? ( not that I don't all of the time) But in the beginnings of my smoking most of the fun was everyone elses reactions.

I totally agree on both counts (indica plus people would have really improved that guys experience.) Plus, he looked noticeably happier and more relaxed when high, and said that it "cured his backpain and his anxiety," but just didn't think it was for him. It makes me wonder what he thought getting high would be like.

I think the biggest problem with "medical cannabis" is the involvement of a doctor. It is one thing to use "natural remedies" for treatment, but there is a little group called the FDA that has to get it's nose into anything that can be used to cure or fix anything. But they are a long running group of Hipocrites. in their minds any substance used to treat or cure a disease needs their approval. how exactly do you do this for prevention of scurvy( a vitamin C deficiency) .. when the cure is to eat citrus fruits.... or what about Rickets( a vitamin D deficiency ) ? does the FDA really check the quality of sunlight ( your body naturally produces vitamin D when exposed to the sun) ? I think not.. no money to squander out of sunlight!!! surprised the FDA hasn't tried to shut down mother nature yet.. ...... just maybe decriminalize it and stop worrying so much about the small stuff... how about fixing the national Debt or maybe fix the healthcare fiasco in the USA.. sorry.. just ranting I guess..
