Still no change, I guess Lem must have took a 2 week holiday in the Philippines as that's probably the only place on the planet without internet in this day and age and took off any security measures so people could join coz it is not right, I had to send an e-mail to get activated wtf happened to that? Total disgrace this is, a free for all illegal spamming of a website. Let's hope if he ever returns he puts measures in place in every part of the forum to prevent this in the future.

And I am talking mods in every topic, ones that stay on the site and not just fuck off when they have it on their c.v.

I had to send an email too before my account was activated. Guess that must've changed in the few months since I signed up. The site is completely fucked now. If anyone has the knowledge to do something about it I think they should. Can't see Lemming being upset about people trying to save his site.

The email activation thing doesn't protect against spambots at all, part of their automation includes setting up disposable email addys and clicking that link in the email you get. This is why those kitchen spammers we've been getting for months kept getting through. Lemming hasn't changed anything, he's just not been here to delete them as they start posting, but this forum has been at risk of this for some time - I suggested several measures a while ago, including at the very least changing the registration question that is obviously useless, but none of them were implemented.

Basically every forum on the internet has this problem potentially, and you either need to have much better anti-spam measures in the signup process, limitations on new accounts (such as requiring an admin to manually validate all new accounts, or other posting limits), and possibly consider banning certain domains from even registering. On an English language forum, 99% of all registrations from Ukraine/Russia and China will be spam related in my experience.

And of course you also need mods/admin available to cleanup if any then get through the net. Unfortunately on here at the moment there is no net....

We have had a couple of mods on who do off topics and nothing has been deleted, off topics should be clean of spam but I want to know is can they delete the posts or not?

i would say obviously not - since NOTHING has been cleaned up or deleted. I sure hope lemmings is okay and that he resurfaces before the forum implodes.
