Hasj Dreamer needs CALIFORNIA advice!
The wife and I are thinking about catching the Bruins play the Kings at the Forum the end of March '12 and we need advice...
Obviously, we'll need some of that high quality Cali-bud whilst on vacation and my question is: will we be able to score a medical card or will we have to resort to heavy hinting around the head shops? I read one article (granted, it was dated a year or so ago) about a New Yorker who was able to easily get a card from a less than reputable clinic that gladly used his hotel as his California address and, less than 20 minutes later and only $80.00 poorer, went next door to purchase "medicine" at a dispensary.
What's the scoop? We're not sure where in LA we'll be (Long Beach? Hermosa or Redondo? Hollywood?)... we'll have a car 'cause I want to explore the "Tarrentino" side of the city but we're happy to take suggestions.
I have family in SD that could hook me up but I'd hate to bother him to come up or me to come down unless I have to.
Thanks for the advice in advance!

Your best bet would be The Kush Club in Venice Beach. I met a couple from Virginia that were enjoying the dispensary. I'm pretty sure they used a California address in order to get a doctors recommendation. Venice is a great place to visit anytime of year.
Enjoy your trip.

Most of those shady shops who were not following the California law are now closed. Since the new shut downs have started it is not as easy to score from dispensaries as it once was especially in VB area. To get a card you will need proof of residence ie: drivers license or Cali ID.
IMO it isn't hard to score on the street especially with the relaxed mj possesion laws (only tix for less than 28g). good luck

You must have not travelled here in a looong time, the Kings play at the Staples Center now. If you find yourself with a spare ticket, you won't need a recHasjDreamer wrote:The wife and I are thinking about catching the Bruins play the Kings at the Forum the end of March '12

The Forum?
I realized what I typed RIGHT after I posted
Arsonist, you got a deal! Besides, my wife and I would enjoy the local company for the B's game - as long as you don't mind being seen with Bruins fan!
I'll send you an IM, we'll tighten up plans (with plenty of time).
Thanks for the offer, I'm looking forward to our visit to the Golden State...

Hey Arsonist... funny enough tomorrow night the Kings play the B's at the Gahden. And, for what it's worth, I've been a bit of a Kings fan since the Vachon and Dionne days. Still want to see the my beloved Bruins put a beatin' on, but I love a good challenge (can't beat the Bruins vs. Columbus and Winnipeg this season!).

I always thought it would basically be Doctor Murray symdrome, if you ever visited the US.
For example, as things like that are paid for, what's to stop a tourist seeing a doctor if they're ill? And then what's to stop a doctor deciding that Marijuana would be an appropriate course of medication?
Surely it must be similar to being prescribed drugs?
Perhaps I'm incredibly wrong, so if I am, I'd appreciate it if someone with a bit more knowledge would set me straight

In Los Angeles, the physicians will rx MMJ without any hassle.
Look for the ads in free LA Weekly to find them or go to the link.

The issue would be the dispensary... will they fill the rx if you don't have a Calif ID?
It was difficult for me in East L.A. but was able to do it in Melrose for some reason.
Eventually I managed to get a Calif ID but that took a visit to the DMV (driver's license place).

Can't post when I'm high, can't post when I'm not. This happens when I do.

no hassle as long as the patient has a qualifying condition and no, dispensary won't allow you in without state i.d that matches rx.dwiggins wrote:In Los Angeles, the physicians will rx MMJ without any hassle.

Yeah, seemed about too good to be true. That's ok, I'm cool with lax laws and a kindly nudge in the right direction!
Arsonist... looks like Tuuka may have a shut out tonight. Quick is one HELL of a goalie but damn, the Kings can't buy a goal!
