not the most friendly entance

I take it you havent been to the "arabica lounge" omg,Its like the maze jail as you have to be buzzed in ,& then you have tons of turks & morrocans staring @ you like "wtf are you doing in our coffeeshop",There weed was overpriced as well! 12 euros a gram of amnesia haze,Compaired with 8 euros down the road in mellow yellow! a saving of 4 euros per gram for the sake of a 10 min walk.
the turnstile was a new addition since it was sold. I ask about it and the owner told me it was mainly to count heads and keep minors out. Its actually a very peaceful coffeeshop although the music is too loud. Even one time when sitting in the smoking room on the first floor with the new owner, she said, that music is loud I will turn it down <in her best english>. Linda is a great gal.

I did notice the turnstyle when i was walking past last week,Havent been in there for a couple of years thou.

Turnstyle to get in. A bad sign.

You have to buy before they even let you in. Unfriendly and somewhat dangerous atmosphere. First time I've ever not felt safe in a coffeeshop.

I find it rather more mellow inside that Prixi though.

Turnstiles in a coffeeshop are not cool.

The shop has had a new owner and some remodeling has been done since then, Kingdoc. Things might have changed since you & your mate's visit...or maybe not.

I see not alot of people seem to like this place whilst it was in my top 3 cafes at the weekend.

Turnstiles (who cares), you don't need to buy before you enter, you can just head in for a bite to eat, a game of pool or just to smoke some pre bought bud and have a drink.

I also found the buds they had were very very good, I ended up buying 3gs of sleaze from there, 1g each of warm ears and tbizla hash whilst they also had some lovely Amnesia and Eutopia which a friend bought, the Sleaze was my favourite bud I smoked out there, each time I smoked it I felt buzzing, no other bud gave me the same high (it was the only kush on the menu), all in all a great place and I will definately be going back there in June :)

I hadnt checked this thread lately and hadnt seen the last few posts. I have been in alot of shops and this one is still my favorite. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you should try it before you say you dont like it. Here is little info about it. When it was sold it was sold to a duo of people. Its a gal name Linda who was a budtender there before it was sold and the guy who owns mellow yellow. I have spent many hours in this shop esp when they used to serve alcohol. I did ask about the turnstile and It had to do more with counting the heads that come in more then trouble. As far as bouncers it more of to ward off trouble, after all they are near central station. I had always felt safe in this shop. I feel the smoke is very good (probably the same stuff as the mellow yellow since he is part owner). The one thing I do agree on is the music is too loud sometimes but even when smoking a J with Linda one day in the first floor smoking room, she said wow that is loud I must turn it down (in her best dutch accent). So I will stick by my favorite coffeeshop. :)

oh my god.... by a country mile, least favourite coffeeshop in the dam.

it looks and feels like an R.KELLY after party venue.

pinky/purple and silver sofas, cheesy rnb and bling hip hop playing.... a concious attempt to make this place look like a bar that the tottenham team would go to on a night out....

an actual nightmare.

really attracts that type of person who listens to usher and wears sunglasses in clubs.

didnt buy anything here so cant comment, also couldnt bring myslef to even stay....

:x

Didn't like this place either mate, overpriced and extremely touristy.

Harsh but fair, and yes it does have an air of Faces nightclub in Gant's Hill's VIP lounge (not that I have been there of course!) - Spurs' players' venue of choice!

Have you moved to the 'Dam now then mate, and how are you & the mrs getting on?

Isn't it owned by the Noon/Mellow Yellow owners?
