Where to leave the car for free?

Post by Smokerstoo »

Anyone know a good place to leave a car for a couple days for free within easy access of public transport to get into the centre?

Thanks

Good place? Probably not. I would just spend the money at the park & ride. It even includes a ticket for public transport into and out of the city. http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting/t ... k-and-ride

I parked at the olympic stadium park and ride, it's very easy if you come in from the south just off the motorway on the ring road. It cost something like 25euro for 4 days which is nothing really, with return bus tickets. One less thing to worry about, you know your wheels are still going to be there when you come back. :D.
What a long strange trip it is.

Thanks for reply's guys. Its a company car so not too bothered about its welfare  It would be for a total of three days. But those park and ride things seem cheap. Everything public transport wise seems so much cheaper than in rip of England

Just park it in Noord Amsterdam if you're not worried about it, I believe it's free to park on the street there (maybe Stan/Gapie can help as he lives that side) you can travel back and forth via the free ferry (I dont know if the ferry stops at night so you'd have to look into that if need be).

I sure do, but there is a slight catch. Wait for it...
You can leave your car at my house (for free), and the regional train stop is only a ten minute walk. Here is the catch, three changes and roughly six hours later you will be in Centraal Station.

Maybe not free, but parking at the Bijlmer Arena might not be a bad alternative...

Happy trails...
