UK college student, occasional smoker.
My history with cannabis started in high school and culminated in freshman year. I had a stoner flatmate which basically meant we would smoke quite often together. Since he transferred after my first year at uni I haven't really smoked all that much.
I've been to Amsterdam twice - first for my 18th birthday with a couple of high school friends then in freshman year at uni with a few stoner friends of mine (including my ex-flatmate). I had a blast both times, but the first time I went I was a bit nervous, so didn't do too much crazy stuff. I visited Barney's uptown and rented a volcano with my college friends and along with the great product and amazing playlist, I had the chillest, most awesome few hours ever.
Anyway,
I am heading over to A-Dam again at the end of the month with some buddies and had a few questions I wanted to ask.
(I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, so if I can't get these answered here, could someone recommend a sub-forum to use?)
1. The Wietpass law has not come into effect yet, right? (in Amsterdam)
2. Is it perfectly acceptable to walk the streets with a joint in hand?
3. If I want to buy mushrooms (not truffles) from a smart shop, how should I approach the person behind the counter? Could anyone PM me a hint of where to look too?
4. What things other than visiting coffeeshops can you recommend to do during my visit?
I have been to the Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank's House, the Heineken brewery and the Amsterdam Museum. I thought the latter was particulary interesting.
5. Most importantly, I would like some advice on what strains to buy and where to get them. I don't like having a heady, buzz most of the time when I smoke, so I am looking for something that will have mellowing, possibly a bit psychedelic effect.
I've tried NYC diesel and it's effects were exactly what I don't want (head buzz, disorientation) - so I assume I shouldn't go for pure sativas.
I also wouldn't mind a strain with high CBD levels, and not crazy high THC levels, for the same reasons as above and also because of the numerous medical benefits of CBD.
Anyway I hope I can get at least some of these questions answered.
Peace
