He started his first money making business selling import records from a phone box in Portobello Road in west london. He's a clever man and probably one of the best advocates us tokers could hope for.Stamford wrote:I disagree.puffthemagicdragon wrote:Mint wrote:Branson's a top bloke, he should be Mayor of London imo.... i reckon we'd all be sitting in coffee shops if he was
Sorry but Branson's an idiot, albeit a clever one at times.
He'll only support anything that might make him or his companies some money. He couldn't give a stuff about anything else.
And let's not forget this is a man who wants to see skunk banned as it's too strong.
Branson is a hippie who set up his first business (a student magazine) in a shared commune and has smoked a lot of the good stuff. I honestly think he is worried about erosion of freedom

I'm well aware of his beginnings as I'm old enough to have been a regular visitor to his shops in Notting Hill/Ladbroke Grove.
But he's openly spoken out about the dangers of "skunk" and is a member of an organisation which wants to see skunk made a higher class drug. I've read the article elsewhere and been looking for it to post here. As soon as I find it again I'll do so.
And I didn't say he wasn't clever, only that he'll only do something if it suits him and earns him money. He is a very good friend of one of my closest friends.

Article on how the Socialist Party is picking up support in the election and could hold the balance of power instead of Wilders-

No idea what their Wietpas views are but they are extremely unlikely to keep Mark Rutte and the VVD in office.

Seconded. He's a very interesting and successful guy who seems to be in touch with the common man a bit more than most other super rich people but why is he suddenly being taken as a great drugs expert? Remember what happened to the last drugs expert who reported the results his job is supposed to research with him being a scientist? After David Nutt confirmed that ecstacy was safer than riding a horse and cannabis being less harmful than alcohol - the government fired him!!puffthemagicdragon wrote:But he's openly spoken out about the dangers of "skunk" and is a member of an organisation which wants to see skunk made a higher class drug. Here they have a rich person (or a celebrity with Russel Brand) they can all pander to as if they're really discussing this without the prohibitionist mindset; like everything else if you've made a hell of a lot of money it obviously means you're an expert on something, it doesn't matter what though.
If anything Branson could set things back even further if he continues this 'skunk' bullshit; unless they define skunk being the mix of cannabis with tobacco I'd be very wary of this all, particularly with the rise of Virgin Healthcare

Wasn't the skunk thing a while ago, maybe his view has changed, become educated. Why doesn't a coffeeshop extend invitation to Branson to educate him?

Interesting list of British MPs that have questioned or opposed the ludicrous War on Drugs, including David Cameron and Nick Clegg-

However once in government the favourite cliche is that drug legalisation would 'send out the wrong message to young people,' whatever the hell that means.

He appeared on a TV programme last week in Spain with Arjan Roskam from Greenhouse. So clearly he already has links with coffee shops.Slip & Sal wrote:Wasn't the skunk thing a while ago, maybe his view has changed, become educated. Wasn't Arjan there? not there with Branson? He was in the Audience and even introduced himself, because Branson doesn't know him.

Coffeeshop owners enlisting the help of powerful adversaries..good idea... as I mentioned earlier we should enlist soros too..and I can't stress it enough. Need to financially prop up coffeeshops during tourist ban and keep real estate in coffeeshop hands

James Bond isn't British, he's Dutch
In the next film for the first time every, he will NOT walk up to bar and request shaken martini, he will ask for a Heineken.
From The Article (FTA)
"a result of the reported $45 million Heineken paid to sponsor the next Bond movie Skyfall."

Dont see how it can be hailed a success when street dealing etc has increased this much, if it keeps getting worse surely the mayors of the big cities will consider not enforcing it.....
