We're moving

It's coming together. The domain now points to the new server. There's still a slight change though - it's now https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/index.php rather than https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/index.php. I've put some slightly more sophisticated re-directs in the phpBB3 directory so it's fairly transparent. In the long run the shorter address should be better.

Slimline is busy setting up a regular backup and I'm thinking about having another go at getting chat installed. Wish me luck!

The User Control Panel is unavailable from my mobile phone. It appears to load, but there's only a white screen.

We're getting there!

I think the auto login problem might have been a setting in the config specifying where the root directory is. It was still set to /phpBB3 rather than just /. Actually, that might have been what was fighting back when I tried to install mChat too. I'll find out shortly.

The user control panel and any login problems were my fault. I was trying to improve the messages to new users but buggered it up . Hopefully it's OK now.

I've put the old smilies back on now.

Generally I think it's gone reasonably well. I don't think we've lost any posts or avatars. Just the chat to get back.

Please let me know of any other technical problems. I can fix some things in the phpBB software but the server is ultimately Slimline's responsibility.

Chat is back!

We've taken the opportunity of Slimline needing to move the forum to a different server to upgrade everything to the latest versions. We are now on the latest MySQL, phpBB and mChat.

Slimline upgraded MySQL and phpBB before he brought the data over but mChat had to be done afterwards. After a bit of a fight, I think I've got it going now. The new version allows mini avatars to be displayed, which I think is nice. It also has a fix for the number of users chatting. I'm still not sure if it does the latter bit right but it does seem like an improvement.
