Just wonder if any of you out there reckon that this forum is known by or has any influence amongst the Coffeeshop owner/ Budtender fraternity ? Previously I would have said not much except for an occasional devotee, but recently I'm beginning to wonder, there are a few posts usually by new users which are attempts to ridicule or give a bad name to other, possibly rival coffeeshops. Conversely some owners of new or upgraded and/or under new management shops are realising the business sense of cultivating friendly relations with the opinions on this forum.
Although I have never encountered any knowledge of ACD in my limited Amsterdam trips ( 3 ) I have read that James from Basjoe was friendly with some of the regulars in here, other owners ( The guy from Hunters springs to mind ) use the forum to possibly address any complaints or issues ACD posters have. And of course DC from Nes is a well loved friend of most of the regular ACD'ers here.
Is the forums influence and reputation spreading ?, or are we just a devoted bunch sharing our opinions amongst ourselves for the benefit of each other---Or are others trying to influence our opinions for either business reasons or personal gain ?
Just a thought

Re: Is This Forum Known To The Coffeeshops
I reckon this forum is know by quite a few C/S's, not to mention their owners. I could list them but why spoil the fun, the search function is a wonderful tool.
As far as influence, what influence do you speak of? Pricing, not a chance. Quality, they too are hostage to whatever is available. See where this leads... No influence.
Although a possibility, I highly doubt a C/S owner or manager would approve of someone coming onto this or any forum to ridicule or give a competitor a bad name. There are plenty of people who do that already without being prompted. Just saying...
With over 200 shops in the city, I don't doubt there are MANY who haven't heard of this site albeit forum. All one has to do is look at the listing of favorite shops, and when stopping in, they will most likely be familiar with this site/forum. I wouldn't suggest to anyone that they go to these or any shop and say "hey, I'm from ACD, gotta love me." They might look at you as if you are on drugs.
Some on this forum know exactly what I'm talking about...
My opinion, we share our opinions and experiences for the benefit of all.
Simply put, just too easy.
Happy trails...

I can only speak from my own experience and that is that I was vaguely aware of its existence for a while but I had never really spent any time checking it out.
I guess I knew of it because I am a regular at the Nes and have often seen DC entertaining visitors.
To me it was an obvious step to make ourselves known on this site when we began to make the changes to the place.
If you are people who care enough about the Coffee-shop scene to contribute to this forum, then it follows that you would be interested to hear of somewhere making the changes that we are.
I can honestly say that I am in this business for the love of the weed, which has never made me rich but has kept me happy and I want to share that love.
If we can make a success of the business then surely that proves we have the right approach.
If you guys like what we do and help to make it a success then so much the better.
Conversely if you don't like what we do then we have a means to get feedback from people, which can only help.
I am aware that there is a fine line to tread with regards to advertising, but consider that if there is anywhere possible for a coffeeshop to interact with its target audience, then places like this are it.

Very nice post Nel.
I too have love for weed although not in the same respects as you (the business aspect), at least not yet...
Happy trails...

Excellent post and I completely agree with your approach. I for one am happy to have you participating in our community.
