I was planning to create a topic where I'd ask for graphics ideas but you've pre-empted me.

I'm currently looking at creating a grey style to keep the whingers happy. Once I've done that I'll take another look at this style.

The objective of this scheme is to make the forum feel more like part of the site. I was trying to bring the colours and graphics into line with the rest of the site but I'm no artist, just a programmer.

In practice the whole site is probably due for a makeover but the email mountain is getting high again and I have a long list of improvements to make when I get time so I don't know when it might happen.

I'll post more details of all of the graphics used by phpBB soon.

Yes please. I really like what you've come up with already. A nice defined leaf and brilliant effect. More effective than mine with fewer colours. Brilliant. Not sure about the lettering though. I think it needs to be a bit bigger somehow and maybe map onto background a bit better.

I'll email you a full set of the pbpBB graphics to play with if you like.

If anyone can come up with a better version of these graphics, I'd love to see them please. I'm not an artist, just a humble programmer.

These ones are a combination of this blank (made from a circle and a gradient in a paint prog) and these little leaves I made ages ago for the main site

The wordy buttons are supposed to be based on the ones at the top (Home, Map, etc.)

no worries.... this is what i do for a living so it will look really sharp guys.

i used to design for alienware, major authors (chicken soup for the soul etc) and publishers, no junk design here. lol
