Why is everything so expensive at the moment?

Usually at this time of year flights and hotels are at their cheapest but its all so expensive at the moment!

Easyjet flights for a weekend trip are around £150 normally you can find one for about £60

Even ryanair, stansted to eindhoven has very few sale price flights + considering the £40 train and bus fares on top of that.

Is there a reason why prices are so high at the moment? I really wanted to book a quick weekend trip but everything costs twice as much!

Ive also been looking at flight prices etc and you really need to book in advance. You can still get £60 return but seems its mostly for during weekdays rather then weekends, and again at least a few weeks in advance.
