was planning a trip to Amsterdam in a couple weeks. It sounds like the coffee shops will still be available for tourists from the states???????????? Anyone know for certain before I commit to plane tickets and hotel reservations???

Hello and welcome. You'll be fine in a couple of weeks. The general consensus seems to be that all will be fine for tourists until 2013...then it may well all go wrong.
