We really liked it too the double-length first episode just flew by. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Re: The River..
I gave up after about 35-40 mins, just seemed stupid and will get cancelled way before it's run 1 season.

It started off slow to give you the whole picture but towards the end of the first hour and the second hour were some scary parts IMO.Boner wrote:I gave up after about 35-40 mins, just seemed stupid and will get cancelled way before it's run 1 season.

I agree with you Catt about the scary parts, and I didn't find the first 40 minutes slow at all... maybe I'm just easily entertained.

Re: The River..
I wandered into most of last night's blindness episode and was kind of hooked. The overly fantastic story line had me rolling my eyes a bit, but the fear and suspense is there.
This was the first I've seen of it. Isn't Spielberg involved in this?
The cameraman cussing up a blue streak had me laughing.

On a second note, the one about the dolls, I bet they filmed that on the island of dolls which is a real place. One guy lives there and it has to do with some supernatural thing that actually started the doll gifting but I cant remember the story. I bet we could google it. I seen it on some documentary one night.

ok so they find that guy and he is the el condros<SP?>. The hanging man. Did he rob the grave of the native or was he being punished for taking the pics? ALso why did it forgive him in the end? Just like the blindness episode, what happened there that made the monsters go away? was it because that one guy was going to offer himself? Just like Lost this series leaves alot of questions.

Re: The River..
I think he took the guy's soul when he photographed the death ritual, which is why he was hanged. When he smashed his phone/camera the soul was freed. I'm not sure if it was that or the apology or both that led to his being forgiven, probably the combination.cattales1960 wrote:ok so they find that guy and he is the el condros<SP?>. The hanging man. Last week the bad guys/monsters/natives (i'm a little unclear on which) ultimately left them alone because they had been "judged as worthy" they didn't kill everyone apparently, just the ones they didn't like.
I'm still enjoying the show a lot- even if it is a bit confusing at times. I like the actor that plays the new camera man. What happened to the black camera man though? I thought he came back with the anti-blindness roots last week. Did he then die? (This show sounds totally absurd when discussed like this.)

Re: The River..
The black guy was in this episode? I think. It might of been a case of he just was doing the camera work and not being shown. The smasing of the cell phone, that was a good conclusion because we did see some sort of entity leave it when that happened. You maybe right on that one. I like the new camera guy too.geekymonkey wrote:I think he took the guy's soul when he photographed the death ritual, which is why he was hanged. When he smashed his phone/camera the soul was freed. I don't think this show has great potential.
BTW; the new camera guy is the same dumb-ass new boyfriend from "Californication".
