Botel anyone?

Post by NW89 »

Hey,

I will be staying at the Botel on the other side of the IJ river.

Are there any coffeeshops on the other side of the river close by?

What do people think of the Botel as accommodation? Are they weed friendly/tolerant?

I have found conflicting reviews online. This is probably due to the fact that the Botel has moved and so previous reviews may now be out of date.

Cheers! :D

I stopped about 10 years ago and they had no cannabis signs everywhere but the whole place stunk of weed, the botel itself is alright, they used to have a free hardcore porn channel as well.

Thanks for the description. :)

Doesn't sound too bad. Will report back on the large clitoris lol.

Just sounds like a place to crash after a day on the grass. That's all I need :D

the one thing that you need to bear in mind with the new location is that the ferry that goes closest to where it is moored is not a 24 hour a day one.
I think the last one goes at about 1am and it starts again at about six am.
I'm not 100% sure about this but in the past have been stuck in that area after parties waiting a long time for the first ferry back to the city.
It can still be reached via one of the other ferries and then a long walk, or by taxi if you get stranded.
Hope you have a good trip.

That's a good point nel z bub. Thanks for that. :)

I've read that there is a shuttle bus at night though?

I'll have to ask about this when I check in.

It might just be the case of coming back about midnight with a big bag of weed and see the night out like that. Sounds good to me :D

It is a bit out there nowadays but there is a free ferry during the day and shuttle buses through the night. It's apparently a 15 min journey on the ferry. Will just need to ensure that I keep stocked up on weed in the evening and I'll be alright.

Stayed here last week. Good for the price. No smoking in rooms but hugh windows open right up and the top deck at the arse end has an open air place with tables, chairs etc. Plenty of smoking here. Good buffet breakfasts from 0700-1030. Decent bar that does burgers, toasties etc. Vending machines for munchies and drinks. Nice and quiet at night.

Ferries from 0600-0015 to the boat. After that take the all night ferry directly across the IJ and a hotel mini-bus runs shuttles all night back to the boat.

Porn movies still there although the huge clitoris must have retired.

Like Boner & Kingdoc, I too stayed many moons ago. To be honest, if they hadn't moved, I would be staying there. (That is, if Voyagers is filled up)
