Another shark jumping event. Now, weed from a semi-reality TV perspective.
As soon as I heard the announcers voice, I knew this was going to be shit. It was only a matter if time...
Reflecting back on what has been said about the commercialization by way of MMJ, USBL was right... this is fucked. It was fucked from the beginning and is not going to get any better anytime soon, if ever.

Fort Collins has recently banned all dispensaries within the City. Colorado, is not a mecca for MMJ. Maybe within certain parts of the state, but as a whole, definitely not. I've seen at least 5 closed shops on my commute home.

While I've never been there, the town of Boulder, Colorado was rumored to be a mecca for pot since the seventies.
Still a rumor as far as I'm concerned, and have no reason to visit. Unlike AMS, or even Los Angeles

I've lived in Boulder and coming from Michigan, it was a mecca. Then I moved to Norcal for a spell and that blew Boulder out of the water for weed.

The ironic thing about Fort Collins is that it was supposed to be the new mecca. In fact pulling off the highway they had a huge billboard for a growshop. I think there has been a CC winning glass making business in FC too.

i just watched the first two episodes and its kinda intresting ...i would back up anyone who does something to make it easier for all of us in explanation grow sell goes through legal systems etc etc but i have to say those stanley brothers dont seem to bright or at least from what comes across so far! how can you try and do what they do but be a bit clueless? whats our best seller ...? its bubba kush!!! so why do we only have one bubby kush plant? i dont know it must of slipped through the cracks...i mean come on you run a rather big grow op and youre own dispensary but you didnt think of that fact? another thing is what you see in there grow op i am clueless to growing pretty much but there was snow outside and in the grow op thing they said is no heat yet? how do the plants survive on such low temperatures?
if anyone has seen the thing on discovery about that other dispensary you saw alot of security and staff out and about to make things safe... in episode two of american weeds they clearly show how clueless the stanley brothers are when that guy comes in and goes back out of the store to get a wrench to beat up the budtender and lock him in the bathroom to rob the place...where was the fucking security there? why was the budtender the only one in the shop?
i think its an intresting view of the legal side from a cops eye aswell and the part where they showed the weed they confessed from junior high school kids that the kids just cut off of plants in someones garden on the way to school shows what problems come up even with it beeing semi legal under medicinal use just because you can grow some and supply some it doesent mean you can do whatever you want same counts for the other guy that had the rules pinned to his grow room door but didnt bother reading them or didnt understand them properly which in both terms is just ignorant!
its the same problem as it is with anything basicly all positiv progress can be fucked up by some idiots making mistakes and ruining it for everyone else if its underage kids or drunk adults vandalising the streets of amsterdam or if its semi legal growers not sticking to the rules...
the main part of what pissed me off with this show is the little reality show bits and pieces i dont want to see one of the stanley brothers wax his chest what does that have to do with weed? same goes for the lingerine pics of that other woman who cares? thats not why people watch this!
in a way its good to have it on national tv for everyone to see whats going on lets just hope they dont make most of us stoners look like jackasses!

IMHO.. I don't like or use the "medicating" tag.. I get high to get high. Not interested if it will fix anything .. I just like getting high.

I have to disagree with both usbl and dur. i believe the medical marijuana is a good thing and has allowed alot of us to become semi-legal. I also believe that some people are against us cause they are scared to lose the profits from their illegal grow ops. This is also the group I believe responsible for us losing the legalization vote in California. It's greed plain and simple.

Whether you want to see it or not MJ in the USA is progressing, slowly yes, but progressing towards some sort of legalization. If you dont see it you got your head in the sand and/or have not been in the scene.

BTW enjoyed the show but see it first hand on a daily basis so most info I already knew.
