I think I'm going to have to go with Hasj's suggestion and try both.

I'll let y'all know the verdict.

If I only am struck with the munchies once, I'll go with Vlemnicx. Can the entire mass of ACDers be wrong?

Thanks for the great info everyone!

I've seen people line up here around the corner in the freeing cold. Figured the fries must be good; was right!

most amsterdamers go to manneken pis ob damrak, i stood in line behind leos son so i knew im right. they have the most crunchy double fried fries i ever ate in amsterdam. Theres also a very traditional fries shop in zaandvort centre

edit: try the frites oorlog met uitjes: saté saus, mayonnaise and onion dices... its one of the most popular ways to eat fries in the netherlands

went to the shop opposite Tweede kamer and had some fantastic frites. only ones in dam i've ever had so have nothing to compare but we thought they were great. also had satay sauce which was a tasty novelty.
It has been too long, no 'Dam from January 2005 till March 2012. Coming soon.....
