Strains that exist in Amsterdam only

Post by Cam9191 »

Hey guys, I have been to Amsterdam in November 2010 for my thanksgiving break. Spent 3 nights there. The chillest 3 nights in my entire life! When I was there, I was hunting for the rarest weeds that don't exist in USA, only exist in Amsterdam. I remember I smoked John Sinclair when I was there. My friends here never heard of it. So I'm going back to Amsterdam this summer for 3 nights in the 2 week of june. I'm asking you guys if you have any suggestions on rare strains i should try when I'm there. links to other threads would be great! I'm not trying to bug you guys out.

If you've never tried Cheese (don't know if it's in the US), you mayaswell try it in the Dam! WOn't be as good as the Uk cheese we get over here, but it'll be nice!

Its difficult to say because most strains I've seen in Dam are available from seed, unless they are a cross, which seem to come and go all the time. Most coffeeshops have strains that are always on the menu, often classics like white widow, ak47, jack herer etc... and will in a way be unique to Dam as they have been grown from clones for many years, and the seeds they originated from may have changed over the years or may now no longer exist.

I would advise trying the imported hash which would be very hard to track down outside of Holland. Basjoe's Bas special is always really good but the genetics are unknown to us.

I have noticed the Dampkring has had a few new unheard of strains recently, check out the recent menus on coffeeshopmenus.org

I know it's hard to hear but most of the top shelf strains in coffeshops originated/developed in the U.S. ie bubblegum, white widow, ny diesel, kush etc....

I'm pretty sure White Widow is NOT a U.S. strain. Obviously only the OG Kushes are purported U.S. strains, not Hindu Kush, etc.

The Hindu Kush is an 800 km (500 mi) mountain range that stretches between central Afghanistan and northern Pakistan.

I think its all in that general area. Depends what map you look at I suppose, way back when all the countries borders would have been a bit hazey.

+1...
..and I would like to add that being labeled rare usually means it's not always available.
Cam9191, you are visiting in the middle of June, not sure how asking three months out will help, especially since you are looking for "rare" strains.
Keep lurking about, stay updated, and start asking about rare strains a week or so before you arrive.
My opinion, you probably won't find any strain that belongs exclusively to Amsterdam.
Well, you may find hybrids that may not be found elsewhere, but as mentioned these are usually one-offs. Here today, gone tomorrow. Ask before you leave...
Good luck...

Yup, the Hindu Kush. OG Kush I've heard is related to ChemDawg and Sour D.

The general consensus is that:

Chemdawg'91 x (old world Pakistani x lemon Thai) = OG Kush

Chemdawg'91 x massachusetts super skunk = sour diesel

Chemdawg was a bagseed found in some weed at a grateful dead concert, again, apparently.
How many strains do i rip on the daily...
