I'm surprised that I haven't seen this place mentioned before on here as I think it will appeal to folks.
The bar Batavia is on Prins Hendrikade, next to the metro entrance, and just around the corner from the Voyagers.
A well appointed, friendly venue run by a great crew of people. Its main selling point is the large, comfortable smoking lounge downstairs- looking out over the canal, and also the superb menu serving large plates of proper pub grub.
The beef and LaChouffe pie has to be one of my favorite meals in town.
If you find yourself overcome with hunger whilst sat at the Voyagers you could do a lot worse than popping round the corner to the Batavia and giving their menu a try.
tell them I said hi.

@Lion king- that was indeed the beef and laChouffe pie. It's my favorite thing on the regular menu although they do one of the finest english breakfasts in town as well as many other tasty dishes. For me however, you just can't beat a good pie!
