Quirky coffeeshops?

Post by SGawain235 »

Hey,

I'm going to be in the 'dam April 18-21 and would like to visit an interesting, fun, quirky shop. Something unlike the same old shop playing techno with uncomfortable chairs and in the dark.

Any suggestions?

Kabouter seems like it would fit the term "quirky." I don't know about the comfortableness of the seating though.

It's a pity Samertewieterang (sp) closed down. That would be the champion of quirky hands down.

Bluebird reminded me of an old 1970's Bar type of feel. But watch out for the staircase. almost did me in twice!!

I LOVED YoYo and I'm definitely visiting that one again. It was open, airy, just so much awesome. I might bring a tiny meditation cushion with me to make it a bit more comfortable on the seats.

Actually the fact that that place closed is why I posted. This time around I want to visit some neat little shops while they are still around. Something different from the shops everyone talks about again and again(although I do want to make Grey Area while there).

Could downstairs at Dolphins be considered 'quirky?' The underwater motif seemed kinda unusual to me, but, I was pretty stoned every time I visited...

La tertulia is one not to be missed. It's quite charming like a fairy tale tea shop.

What a long strange trip it is.
