Hello all...
I just wanted to take a little moment to introduce myself...
I'm a mid-20's guy from the Benelux area and I just signed up for the forum. It's strange, I have known the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory for years - basically ever since I planned my first trip to Amsterdam when I just turned 18 - but I only just recently noticed it has a forum section. And, most importantly, this forum seems to be pretty active as well, so I'm glad to join and contribute!
I used to be an avid (read: daily) weed smoker back during my senior high school years and the period thereafter, but I eventually quit because I felt my consumption was hindering me in pursuing my "post-school" life, i.e. university studies. I also had a couple of personal issues to deal with and I felt like cannabis was not really helpful during that time. I never really quit as in "never again" though, and now that a couple of years have passed, I think I have become sufficiently responsible to re-introduce cannabis into my life
. Since I only smoke occasionally, my tolerance is virtually zero, which allows me to both use very small amounts and nonetheless be able to feel differences between strains much more clearly than I could a few years ago. The saying "less is more" is absolutely applicable to cannabis, in my opinion.
I have decided to supply myself with quality weed from Amsterdam, and I would like to both hear other people's opinions on shops and strains and share my own experiences with others. The internet is a quite amazing tool in that it really makes it much easier for customers (of any business) to exchange information and experience. And it is even more valuable in the case of coffeeshops because the Dutch legislation offers no way for cannabis users to make informed decisions about the product they buy - as opposed to food for example, where you can compare ingredients, nutritional values, and so on with a simple look at the wrapping.
Anyhow, I don't want to make this too long for now. You will probably see me the most in threads discussing either certain shops or certain strains. I will try to get a "feel" for the forum and then move on to posting myself. I have just been to Amsterdam a few days ago, so I have some fresh photos and experiences to share
.
Thanks for reading, and see you on the boards...
