Greetings!
Is anyone getting any response by email from the captain of the vessel? I am not. I am looking to book a tour for myself and three friends in May.
I am reading that the captain is usually found at Voyagers. I'd like to book ahead since we are coming to town from out of town..uh,..yea, I said that.
What I mean is, we aren't locals..and I would prefer to plan ahead, rather than hope to connect in Voyagers only to either not be able to, or to hear of no availability.
hmm
hmmmm....

Are you talking about the St Nicholas thing? If you are, they seem pretty clear that it is just a case of turn up and try your luck and they can't really plan ahead. I intend to try anyway

To be honest I think thats pretty much the relaxed attitude the Dutch tend to take. More so in that those running the boat trips are probably stoners themselfs. And lets not forget the weather also plays it's part in that if it's to rainy, cold or windy it's not going to be boat trip weather prehaps?.
Best thing to do is goto Voyagers at the earliest point of your trip you can when you get there and just ask about it to who ever is behind the counter. Pretty sure if these running them are not there that someone behind the counter can make a call and find out about a trip.

I do not know about the Voyager's boat club but the St Nicolas club has a sign up sheet at the Boom Chicago club. They are privet boat owners that love to share there love of boating in the canals of Amsterdam, they are not tour operators and will not take a reservation or even answer an email, just go sign up and enjoy Amsterdam. They love there boats and the canals so much they don't charge you they do it for tips, about 10-15 euros each

The sign up for St. Nicolaas Boat Club has moved to Mike's Bikes at Kerkstraat 134.

It appears that the St. Nicolaas Boat Club and tours may have some legal issues. Seems to be a lot of that going around Amsterdam these days!
