The Bulldog

Post by steelbreezzz »

I was able to get a bed for 5 of my 6 nights in the Dam. Tuesday thru Friday nights and Sunday night. How likely is it that there will be a cancellation and I will be able to get a bed there on Saturday night also. or should I start to seek alternative accommodations now? I will be arriving next week on the 10th.

I have had this situation at the Bulldog almost every time I have gone (6 trips). They ALWAYS found me a room, usually on the day of my arrival and only once did I have to change rooms. Ask when you check in and tell them you would much rather not have to move. Good luck

The weekend can be a hard time to find a bed. I would try to have something lined up just in case they can't accommodate you.

Peace

Balou has a good point. Though I have witnessed the Bulldog staff both accomodate people and assist them in finding rooms elsewhere, it may be wiser not to count on this courtesy reoccuring, best of luck and enjoy your trip

The Bulldog keep a percentage of there beds for walk in travellers. So even though there may be no beds available to book online there still keep a percentage for people to be able to walk in on a given day and pay for. So as long as you ask the day before or firsdt thing on the morning you cant book for you should be ok.

Other than that I booked there last year and the online booking had no resevastions for my dates. So I emailed them and they let me have all the dates I wanted anyway possably because they do suggest contacting them anyway in there is no availability to see what they can do and being a past customer there probably helped to.

Just try trivago or some other last minute online accomodation booking site. You aught to get some decent last minute deals if your in the city at the time of booking.
